It's fake and not hard to do, just roll a character, call it "Gamemaster Rerolled" and troll people in /z. Pretty common yesterday since it was one of the last free month's days.

Bethesda makes Elder Scrolls, so I don't see why there won't be another single player game in the next 5 years or so.

Dont think itll be 5 years. Skyrim was late 2011 release date. Im sure theyre deep into something else, but have to wait until this game is done trying to hype its demise. This game was a big let down for myself, because as much as some people hate on it... I really enjoyed Skyrim without mods. I played it again with mods and enjoyed it too. But ESO... *raugh*

Collecting some opinions since a significant part of my friends list did the same thing than me, unsub before end of free month : a lot of people feel scammed by VR content, especially when they figure they have to do ALL Quests / Bosses / Dungeons up to VR8 then hop in a grind train in the last zone public dungeon. Most of them didn't level past VR1, they went in PvP, got raped by the V10 crowd, went back into leveling then slowly quit. One other major quitting reason is no Eu server, that feels like a scam as well in 2014 when games like Wildstar offer ~15ms Eu servers during Open Beta 1 month before release while TESO can't propose Eu servers one month after release.
Based on that, I'd say Eu wise they faced a large players drop. I'd assume at least 30% of free month's Eu players didn't sub for the second month. If their PC sales are low and if they can't retain subscribers, TESO console release isn't a 100% sure-to-happen thing anymore.

It's going to launch sometime around the console version of Age of Conan but before True Fantasy Live Online.
I'd guess it sold better than FF14, but worse than SWTOR. I'd probably guess right at a million. They had ~300k box sales and it seems most of their customers were digital. Total guess though as Zenimax is keeping tight lipped. No idea how much churn rate we'll see, or if it'll be as bad as SWTOR.
I was reading an insider post somewhere on my Ipad that the cost to develop TESO was a fraction of TOR, also. I wish I had bookmarked it, but no way of telling if it was authentic. The reasoning was pretty sound. As much cash as SWTOR is generating, I can see this game making good dinero for Zenimax long term.
