The only actual difference between the two of them is that Thawne didn't kill Barry because he was just toying with him, whereas Jay actually had to run for his life. If Thawne had actually been trying to kill Barry, Barry would also have had to run or he would have died.

Yeah Jay flat out says he ran from Zoom multiple times...but Gav is right. Wells couldn't kill Flash at any of the time soutside of their final fight in fear of messing up him getting home. At no point was Barry even close to beating him when they squared off except once I think when his powers were going wonky.

zoom despite what jay garrick says, is not as powerful as barry and nowhere as fast as reverse flash. zoom was stuck on earth 2 until the rift or or anomaly or whatever they called it opened up and created 52 portals which zoom is using to chuck disposable bad guys at barry so he can build his speed force to be fast or faster than anyone else. if zoom was so badass, he would have taken care of barry on his own, he wouldnt have to resort to sending b grade supervillains or kidnapping people. reverse flash, keep in mind is extremely powerful, but its entirely possible he got that way through stealing flash's tech and of course his craftiness with the cameras and knowledge of past/future events.
also barry has never run from danger, he runs toward it. even reverse flash which he knew goddamn well he was outmatched, he still threw down and was prepared to die in order to stop him.

I said this earlier. I don't believe Zooms end game is to kill Barry, and I don't buy what Jay said about Zoom.
If it's like the comics, he is either looking for a successor for the Black Racer, or he needs to keep a certain amount of Speedsters alive at a high power level to keep the Speed force maxed out.
The whole send 23 villains this season to kill Barry one, by one just seems silly to me as a plot device. Zoom seems to be able to freely move in, and out of the portals without losing the speed force.
I think Zoom wants to build Barry up so he can steal his speed.
Also, part of me hopes that Zoom is actually Earth 2 Barry.

I would assume that Earth 2 Barry is dead and Zoom and Henry Allen or something along those lines and once people are unmasked its going to be conflicting for Zoom or Barry.
Also in the comics does Black Flash mess with everyone? I dont see why he would be ruining other peoples lives and not just Flash's/Speedsters. I also dont know why they would make a major character like Zoom and make him the Black Flash

Black Racer is the Grim Reaper of the speed force, and will always be there to balance it out.
In the comics he also has joined with Barry Allen at one point to make the God Flash.

Black racer/Black Flash has many different versions. He does whatever he wants to further it's own goals. Its basically just a checks ,and balances for the speed force.

Right now, Black Racer is an avatar of death in the comics, he just killed Darkseid.
It just seems like he is using Earth 2 against Barry for whatever reasons he has (to make Barry more powerful etc), and is no longer concerned with Jay since he doesn't have the Speed Force.

zoom is using earth 2 because he is from earth2. wells says he knows who he is. if i had to guess, i would say he is somebody that was working in the earth2 Star Labs when the accident that caused meta humans occurred. im not saying its the earth 2 version of ronnie raymond, just saying the circumstances are very much alike.

Zoom isn't going against Barry directly yet because Zoom -IS- Barry...or someone close to him. I'm sticking to my prediction to Barrys Mom.
