I'm being a tad melodramatic, but nonetheless synthetic bacteria is in the gulf in large quantities now. It'll be years before we fully understand the ramifications of the decision by BP to take bioremediation into the synthetic era.Say what? Obviously not been down there since 08 as per post, but is it from the oil spill or some other shit?
I would say if she hasn't caught on to his street corner hooker lifestyle after being given an STD, it's on her at this point. Still, a complete dick move by him, but she's making a conscious decision to remain ignorant at this point.True, even if you hated the guy, you'd have to give j49 props for being the most forthcoming person in the world.
However, there are two moral questions I think that are justified.
1. He's apparently getting the girl high BEFORE banging. I'm fully on board with the "what two adults want to exchange money for is not my business" argument, but if the person can't stand doing it unless she's numb to the world, that's pretty questionable.
2. If his wife doesn't know that he's seeing whores on the regular, he's harming her.
Not that I personally give a shit about an internet dude's ethical behavior, but to say there is no reason to be outraged is a bit silly
People still eating gulf coast seafood e'ryday here in la and if people are getting sick from it the media is doing a good job of covering it up. Maybe all the garlic we tend to use counter acts the synthetic bacteria.I highly recommend NOT eating any seafood in Florida at this point. The water is infected with synthetic bacteria :*(
edit: That goes for pretty much the entire Gulf Coast.
Breakers is still there, it's decent but I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. New Smyrna was so nice in the 90s and early 2k, but the "recession" or whatever you want to call it hit that place like a fucking mack truck. Daytona Beach is shit, New Smyrna is shit. My entire life my family owned a house in Edgewater, we'd go every summer/fall and I lived down there for a little while after I graduated from high school. I'd never go back though after the way it is now, had a couple cop friends that were from the same town in Syracuse as me that worked in Daytona Beach and just too many horror stories from them and seeing too many knives/guns while playing basketball. Just not worth it. Jacksonville leaked out and ruined Daytona basically. You can do some decent "urban exploring" down there though. I'm pretty sure the Hilton's closed/abandoned.We used to take a family vacation to New Smyrna every winter when I was a kid. I remember an amazing burger joint called Breakers. This was in the late 90s/early 2000s though. Haven't been back since.
FYI, BOEMRE is now called BSEEE. They changed their name at least 3 times in the past 4 years. They probably do that so you can't find the old information. Also, that bacteria has been around since the 70's at least. They used them on some Texas beaches when that mexican oil rig went boom. They worked great and brought everything back to normal (better than normal in some instances) in less than a year. So naturally environmentalists hated them.Riki Ott: Bio-Remediation or Bio-Hazard? I know there are better sources out there, and I found a bookmark that included all the information regarding synthetic bacteria used on the MC252 wells from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management website, but the BOEMRE site appears to be down:

I swear to christ a year ago more info was on the web in abundance, including a few articles discussing the fact it was attaching to bacteria we had developed immunity to(or able to treat with antibiotics) and reprogramming them with artificial DNA making it so we were having issues fighting them. I'm not done digging yet, though. Hopefully I can find more.
