While it does feel like we've gone too far, it also seems like a complete inevitability that all advanced countries enter into this territory. If we don't pioneer this shit someone else will, and we'll be fucked playing catch-up. It would be rather nice for this to be a bigger issue in politics as far as elections go, but apparently no one is allowed to talk about it. So how do we select representation to oversee these things when they can't discuss what's going on?

Oh man if Obama had offered him a pardon even -I- would be raged. And I certainly don't think that Snowden deserves to DIE (capital offense -- that means our righteous government is threatening his ass with summary execution) for his crime. But an Obama pardon?
Tad would have had to made some room on the conspiracy bench, cause my ass would be sitting right next to him and we'd play a fun game of "who can yell the loudest?"
Our country, before becoming embroiled in the politics and wars of Europe, was not going down this "inevitability" trajectory. I think it's a logical fallacy to believe that all this is destined to happen.
It may be human desire to want to know everything, but our hubris does not mean it has to be manifest.
