No I haven't seen the new escalade. To be honest in my area if you drive one you look to be an aspiring rapper if you catch my drift. I'm not a real big social guy and everyone at work drives a truck except a few people, the controller drives a toyota car of some sort. I don't even notice stuff like that. I've ridden in his car for lunch and to me it's just transportation. I just don't notice what people drive. Our last IT guy drove a $65k F250 and I rode to lunch with him and I told him he got ripped off since it didn't have remote start. I didn't even know they made such nowdays and it was brand new.

I've noticed 2 vehicles in the last 6 months. For a short period my company put me in a "luxury" apartment while I shopped for a house (I didn't buy a luxury house lol) and one guy had a maserati and another had a ferarri. I only noticed the ferrari because he was at the self car wash one which struck me as odd.

Escalades are way too overpriced. My wife wanted a luxury SUV so we looked at the QX80s, Escalade and the Lexus LX. The Escalade was nice but the sticker price turned me off. They wanted close to 90k for the features we were looking for. Plus my brother in law has one and he complains so much about it. We were leaning towards a Yukon Denali but we decided on either QX80 or the Lexus LS and plus I'm already a Lexus owner. My car is a 2003 Lexus ES 300 with 195k miles on it and the car still runs like a champ. I put ALOT of miles on going to and from my job. My job offers discounts with GM, Nissan/Infiniti and BMW vehicles. So I can buy vehicles at MSRP prices. They didn't offer it for the Lexus LX so that left the QX80. I was able to get $7000.00 off the MSRP price plus other incentives which gave me a $13,000 off discount including a trade in for the QX80. My brother in law use to work at a Honda dealership in the finance department. He told me I got a steal for that vehicle for the final price I paid for it.

The only thing I have to do is get the head rest DVD players for my kids which can added for $1600.00, which will come in handy for those long trips. Other than that this SUV has everything we need. It loaded with so many standard features it crazy. Cooling seat, heated steering wheel, remote start, streaming bluetooth, Bose speaker system, keyless entry, Intelligent key, built in navigation, 360 degrees camera, moon roof and the list goes on.ry

Hell man, skip the headrest DVD players and just get a couple tablets for the kids. Cheaper, and they'll like them more.

I don't know if other companies have the around view or 360 camera as Nissan.infiniy has but it is awesome my wifes 1st gen rogue has one (it has every options a rogue can have) and its really nice, also the Nissan backup cam is the best I have used with the predictive path etc. etc.

here have a view of the "nice" new escalade...and really...they know that the above described people are its target..
2016-cadillac-escalade-esv.jpg

the equivilant GMC and Chevvy imo LOOK nicer and you can get just as much "lux" stuff added into them- esp the GMC denali class level of stuff.

The 360 camera is nice. It has wide angle cameras around on the QX80 which gives you a birds eye view of your vehicle. So it looks like your looking down onto the SUV. It helps with parallel parking so you won't scrape you rims against the curb. The back up camera is godsend also. It has a object detection along with a camera for added security. Few years ago I backed up into a kid on a bicycle. He stopped right behind my car and I didn't see him at all. Thankfully I was backing up real slow so he didn't get hurt. I tapped his bicycle knocking him down.

Here is a video of it.

Yeah its awesome, that's what my wife's car has- I "think" that Nissan/Infinity was the first to get this tech working- and yeah the Inifnity's they put prox + backup cam and that is nice addition to the backup cam... when I got my Murano and it had a backup cam- I didn't use it twice, once I rubbed a yellow parking pole (buffed out thank the Lord!) and the other I glanced at it and stopped just in time not to run over a lady walking behind me as I backed out of a spot. The backup cam + birds eye is awesome- it works exceptionally well with parking spaces etc. Some tech at Nissan spent a ton of time in a grid room to make the equations that edit the camera inputs into "laying flat" as you can see the "backup cam" and the "back quarter" of the birds eye is the same camera-- also if you press your camera button to turn the around view on, you can cycle through front cam and passenger side cam- each with predictive lines. Also nissans cams are higher resolution than all the ones I have seen in the GM cars- used a Tacoma today, it had a nice backup cam good resolution but no predictive path.

The only one you can really see is the front one- as the emblems are usually more protruded than those without the around view- as far as Nissan most have it default now and it has all been blended in to the design- but as the vid says, its the front grill, normal back plate and under the side mirrors.

But it comes with a toilet, a shower, a fridge, a nuke, a cooktop, a dinette, a murphy bed.

Suggestions for a 400-600 inflatable slide with play area for kids. Seems like a bad idea myself due to how easy they are to tear, but wife is determined, any advice?

Escalade is basically a Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon with a bigger engine. Basically everything inside is ripped directly from those cars (everything looks basically the same even) but with a $30k markup. Most other Cadillacs do not share much of anything with their other GM brethren (Cadillac sedans are based off a platform that is exclusive to only the Cadillac brand), but the Escalade basically shares everything.

Get a Yukon, Tahoe, or Suburban and save yourself the money for a nice vacation or hell, another (fun) car.

We went through the same shit revenly. Wife was upgrading from a car to SUV. Told her she could have whatever she wanted. Thankfully she's a little frugal. She settled on a very nice Jeep Grand Cherokee for $45-$47. It had basically all the technology, etc, as SUVs costing $20-30 more. The only tech she liked that it didn't have was the 360' cameras.

I'm frustrated by this too. I want a high end SUV but when you get the decent tech packages they are almost $90 (for example build out a nice Range Rover Sport HSE.) May as well get a fucking G wagon but out of principal its retarded to spend that on a vehicle. I'm about to say fuck it and get a Ford F-150 Platinum.

Just got this yesterday

dyson-vacuum.jpg

I've always been leery of Dyson vacuums, they seemed ridiculously overpriced. Saw a post on slickdeals that Dyson themselves was selling manufacturer refurbs, so got it for $150, instead of the $399 MSRP for new.

Definitely well worth $150. My wife had vacuumed 2 days ago with our old vacuum, I ran this one again just over the living room and you wouldn't believe the amount of shit it picked up. Sucked up a ridiculous amount of fuzz from the carpet, so much that it looked like there was a small rodent in the canister, and we don't even have any pets, that was just loose crap laying in the carpet that our old vacuum was apparently too weak to pick up(and it was the #1 rated vacuum on Amazon a couple years ago, a Hoover upright)

I'm sold, Dyson vacuums are badass.

Dyson is one of those things that no one pays MSRP for the thing. I suspect it is another one of those things where they set the MSRP really high simply so they can offer 30-40% discounts so everyone thinks they're getting a good deal but they still paid double what they'd normally pay for a vacuum.

That said I like my Dyson even if it feels a tad cheap for how much it costs.

So I bought this awhile ago. But it really has been an improvement to my old full-face helmet without the motorcycle style visor. That I originally got to avoid getting kicked in the face. This one also has better mount options available. Hopefully this time it will allow me to not lose my gopro to fuck-heads who don't know what they're doing and then tell you to suck it up.

Still salty about that.
