I bought a 4" memory foam mattress topper from Costco a couple months ago. I think it was around $100. I've always been a really light sleeper, toss & turn all night long, wake up and look at the clock half a dozen times every night, etc.

I didn't really like it the first week or two, I'm mainly a stomach-sleeper and the thing felt a little weirrd to me, like it wasn't firm enough.

I decided to give it a month, and I'm glad I did. Something finally just clicked and I love it now, I rarely wake up at night anymore(maybe once, twice at most, rather than 5+ times) and I was also worried about it retaining heat(I need ice-cold conditions when I sleep) and I haven't noticed any different from a normal mattress, it's not any warmer than usual now that summer swamp-ass weather is here.

I'm glad I didn't buy a $2000+ tempur-pedic mattress, the memory foam topper seems to be great so far. I have a friend that paid $6000 for some crazy adjustable temper-pedic bullshit and he swears it's the greatest mattress ever, but he's also making the equivalent of a car payment each month to pay it off over 3 years. Fuck that.

Are you my dad?
He a big cigar smoker? I don't chain smoke them like some people. I enjoy a good quality cigar every so often, at most once a month.

When I owned a business I gave them out to people who came in for a meeting or whatever. Not really to smoke in the office. That's what I plan on doing with the new office humidor. Conversation piece for when people come in for a meeting on a new project. I've found it pays off in the long run, it smooths over a lot of little bumps later on. That's why I like face to face kick off meetings, put a face with a name helps a lot to smooth over potential problems. It's like taking guys hunting and fishing, same thing.

This is definitely part of it, and I'm only a week in. It's certainly better than it was so I hope I end up liking it as much.

Wasn't sure I'd like memory foam either, but as soon as I got one I started falling asleep within 30 seconds of hitting the pillow

I didn't buy it. The company did and it comes next week for my office. A few months of seasoning and it will be ready to use.

Months of seasoning? Damp cloth, wipe it down (mainly to get the cedar dust off) which will imbue some moisture. With that size of humidor, I would get (2) 1-cup sized glasses or tubberware and fill with distilled water, place 1 each on the bottom shelves. Get (2) smaller containers and fill with distilled water for the top drawers. Wait 2-3 weeks (do not ever open) and you have a perfectly seasoned humidor! And for the love of god, do NOT use sponge humidifiers.

Also, I would caulk that glass if I were you. Glass on any humidor leaks...

I have 3 humidors personally. I smoke a cigar (or 2) every day after work to calm me down. I have a Kenmore wine cooler I want to turn into a frigador. I need to get some custom Spanish cedar trays made for it at sometime. I have already sealed the water plug in anticipation. I may get a active humidifier (Oasis for instance), but a lot of people are having luck have a platform of Heartfelt beads (or sylica cat litter) at the bottom and just spray distilled water every few weeks to rehydrate the beads/litter.

On a piece of furniture you have to be concerned about the wood that is actually the structure pulling moisture from the cedar the lines the actual humidor. The cedar soaks up mositure very quickly which is great for the humidor and seasoning. The wood in the structure is klin dried to about 16% and will pull moisture from the spanish cedar for a long time so it's best to get it semi seasoned as well. What is surrounding the actual cedar of the humidor is 3x drier than the air here.

I have a cabinet humidor at the house with a 2,000 cigar capacity and it took about 6 months to get it fully stabilized even with lots of distilled water in it and a couple of active humidication systems. The coolerdor I had in my old office only took a week or two to season all the spanish cedar trays I had made to fit in it.

There's a place near here that has probably $20k of cigars in two cabinet "humidors" that the glass front doesn't seal and they have no humidification. I told the owner when I saw it, he said that's only for "fancy" cigars. JFC he had nearly every big name brand of cigars in there from Padron on down. I'm sure after a short time they were all cracked to shit.

There is no insulation between the structural wood and the cedar lining inside? One of the table humidors (was a very large coffee table for the most part) I was looking at had that so the outside wood would not absorb the moisture from the cedar inside as it had a barrier between the two. It had a amazing stained glass top that was 100% sealed too. I wish I bought it, was a work of art, but cost more than any piece of furniture I have in the house. I had planned to pass it down through the generations as a heirloom piece.

It hasn't arrived yet. The cabinet I have at the house has a little lining, but like I said even with active humidification it took several months to stabilize. Once it stabilized it's stayed the same for a couple of years now. I installed a small fan eventually because my digital hygrometers were varying from the top to the bottom a decent amount. The fan fixed at as well.

I didn't pick it out. I just told the lady who ordered it I wanted an end table like humidor. It's made/built in the USA from North Carolina so we'll see.

Yeah I've heard that glass tops are very hard to seal. My cabinet humidor doesn't have a glass front and I have a smaller regular humidor that doesn't either.

We'll see how it turns out. Cigars I give away go on the expense account to as entertainment so if they dry out better than the ones at the house lol.

We get a certain amount to decorate our offices. From the looks of it most guys get a fancy desk and/or chair. I got a nice chair but nothing fancy. I don't work at a normal desk anyway so that wasn't a real issue. I bought my own that I made big enough to unroll an E size drawing on if needed. So I had extra throw on stuff like a humidor.

I buy about 50 cigars a month on average. I only buy boxes of my absolute 5 favorite cigars, so 1 box of those goes a few months (generally keeping 5 of so out of each box to age). It is becoming a very expensive hobby... I allocate roughly $400 a month for cigars. I do however age certain cigars (Opus X, Liga Privadas, AF Works of Art, Ashtons, Padrons) and then sell them aged for 2-3x their original price. I sold 5 Opus X 'Love Affairs' (circa 2009) for $55-65 each (bought originally for $11 each) last year. The amount of money people pay for rare and well-aged cigars gets stupid. Friend of mine sold an aged Partagas Lusitanias (Cuban) for $175...

I assume you use cigarbid.com like a religion right? I buy a lot there, get 5 packs for 1/4 the price as CI, boxes at times for the same. All the bids expire around 10pm central each day. You can select how often they ship to save some. Like everyday or once a week or whatever. Probably use it but thought i would throw it out. Comes out of the same humidor/wharehouse as CI.

They're owned by cigar international which is owned by another large company that owns the brand of a lot of name brand cigars, they own the US name for Cohiba bought from the actual Cohiba etc....

I had a good christmas last year, got over $1,000 worth of cigars from my sister and an old boss. I'll smoke a short story pretty often because it only takes 30 minutes. I like some Padrons (what I got for christmas) but for everyday smoke I like a Don Pepin Cuban Classic (black label), no idea what they even run.

I use Cbid, CI, and Cigar Monster quite often. I do buy a lot from a local cigar bar to help show support for local businesses. The cigar bar has a great selection and an amazing bar. The bartender (mixologist) is absolutely incredible and basically makes drinks with an artform. Best damn Manhattans I've ever had (seems like a simple drink to make, but there's a vast difference in taste between a generic/cookie-cutter one and an amazing one). They have connections with a lot of the bourbon distillers so they generally have special bourbons from barrell's they have personally picked out. Their hand-picked Four Roses Single Barrel, Barrel Strength they picked for this year was absolutely incredible (I would easily drink it over any Pappy Van Winkle, was that incredible).

Pepin's Cuban Classics are actually their least expensive smokes. I am not a Don Pepin Garcia (labelled) cigar fan. I generally prefer his other labels ('My Father' blend). Tatuajes are one of my top 5 cigars (I buy boxes of these)

Toppers are fine. I made the mistake of buying a really expensive mattress last year. Worst sleeping experience of my life after a month.

We threw it away, and just get toppers now. Liked it way better, but it's all preference.

Last year I had 5 days of 1000mg serioid infusion and for 6 months I couldn't taste a cigar. It sucked, couldn't work with nothing to do but sit around and couldn't enjoy a cigar.

The local cigar place I will stop and pick up a cigar but I really don't fit in. I make good money in my work but the crowd is really too "upwardly mobile" for me. I normally park at the next building over so I don't screw up someones Ferrari with my truck. They have some really nice cigars in there but you can tell they cater to a really younger crowd with the amount of acid cigars and crap in there.

So my sister ordered apair of Merrell shoesin the wrong size, ordered mens size instead of womens on accident, and they just happened to be my size so she gave them to me. I figured they'd be easy to put on for walking the dogs. Started wearing them and they were, by far, the most comfortable shoes I'd ever worn. To the point that I wear them to work whenever possible, especially if I'm going to be on my feet all day. So today I orderedthesefor day to day summer shoes.

Welcome to the club. I have a pair of Dr Scholl's sandals that are comfortable as fuck, but just the fact that they are made by Dr Scholl's makes them sound like you should have to be 80 years old to wear them. IDGAF. The're so damn soft its like walking on a cloud.
