Farrell is corrupt but after seeing the bondage or rape stuff he wont be able to sweep stuff under the rug and be paid off

Not sure if you can say True Detective s1 had a 'real' story. It had the personal stories of the two main characters and the detective story that focused on ritualistic killings and shenanigans.

I think this will be the same, and Caspere's death is probably the lead in to the detective story and what brings the three main characters together.

Well they said severe pelvic wound and showed this photo. I could be wrong but it would be odd to focus on Farrells hatred for rape and bullying and think this case isnt going to divide him with Vaughn/corruption

I think Caspere's death is related to something other than the business dealings. However, the initial investigation is going to point to the business dealings and drag through that before finding the killer/reason, similar to S1 finding Dupree before actually solving the crime.

However, I don't think it will ultimately matter as the murder is just there to set off the rest of the dominoes.

I didn't read everything over the last few pages... but how did no one question where the Russian dudes mini giraffe is? Like wtf you can't just have a mini giraffe and get rid of it and not expect repercussions. I expect him dead within the next two episodes.

I would assume evrything is a big red herring like season one. Girls with antlers, voodoo shit was just supposed to be creepy. This season we see white water, eagle head, and dudes eyes/dick removal. Both seasons will revolve about child abuse Im guessing

1. What's all the posts in the ground in the opening scene? Is that something to do with the rail construction??

2. Who is the guy that VV gestured to during the party?

3. Who is the guy that VV meets with the Russian that he doesn't like?

4. What pills did Officer Danger take? Viagra?

5. Why did Rachel McAdams get kicked out of the casino?

6. Why did they plant Casper in that city with the wallet? His whole death is goofy.

1. VV and the others are talking about state funding to build the rail corridor. That was what that formal shin dig was all about. I'm sure that's what the posts were for; where the railroad (tram line) was going to run through.
2. Not sure who that guy is yet. I'm guessing we'll find out over the next few episodes.
3. Seems like the Russian (or whatever nationality) was a mouth piece for someone higher up.
4. Yes, it was a Viagra pill.
5. She got kicked out for being drunk.
6. Casper was the city manager, so I'm sure his death is going to be tied in to everything else with the railroad money.

Gotta admit, as gripping as the first episode of season 1 was, I was disappointed with this season's first episode. The haunting dialogue that made the first season so god damn awesome is nowhere to be found. It's like the show went from Shakespeare to Chris Morgan.
