Pizzolatto needs to make amends or whatever with Cary Fukunaga. Or at least get someone whose idea of character development isn't showing us tortured-blowjob-face every week.

I like the city and had never heard of all the bullshit with Vernon before. Would be interesting if all this stuff wss somewhat linked to the crazy bohemian grove theories

I'd get mad at how bad this thread is and how much shit popscile is pumping into it, but really this thread sucks because this season sucks. I'll watch the rest and care more if it starts getting good, but man episode 3 was so flat and uninteresting. The only intriguing part was when fat-detective was outed as secretly being a counter-intelligence detective. But really I don't care and the stuff he was snooping on was so lame anyway.

Only thing bothering me this season is Vaughns character. Last season i thought the show was moving to slow and then the next episode Rust went undercover.

A lot of interesting theories out there like the blue diamands, or bohemian grove but this forum has been retarded with season 2 and people trolling

Yeah, I thought this season was supposed to take place in Riverside or San Bernardino counties. I think the desert setting would have been far more interesting.
I thought early speculation on Bakersfield would have been interesting. The place is shit, but has character that could seem fitting of the show.

To the people saying they just don't give a shit about the setting. I don't think it's just that. This weird, corrupt little industrial city could have been interesting. The problem is the show has turned to shit, so obviously we aren't going to like the setting. I mean, did everyone who loved True Detective also love True Blood just because it was set in bum-fuck-Loozyana? I would think not. The setting this season isn't interesting because the show isn't all that interesting.

It should focus more on the detectives and VV should be more marginalized.
But W is the runner up for being the Truest Detective.* Hell, if I recall, I think he's on the program icon with Comcast (for comparison MM was on the first season). I think, ultimately, W was supposed to be a key player. It just sucks that he sucks.

*The True Detective is still obviously the fat drunk cop they're trying to force us to think is just a wasted non-essential character.

Then start a discussion on these interesting theories instead of repeatedly just bitching that people are trolling. I mean, I wish I had the ability to troll you so hard you wouldn't post here, but not even I can do that, so feel free to hit reply and post something of substance?

If you don't like the show and think it sucks, for the love of god, stop watching it. More importantly, stop posting about it.

Maybe we could have three threads for TDs2? One thread for differing opinions on the show like we have already. And two threads for pussies.

Me asking Hosmar to post some of these grand theories he's claiming can't be discussed = shit posting.

Whining that the thread is shit over and over and over and over and over without posting anything of any substance or consequence = ?

Why does my posting offend you? Why not come up with something to discuss? If all you have to say is 'stop posting if you don't like the show' then why don't you stop posting yourself? That sounds pretty miserable, as I enjoy this show enough to want to discuss it, which is why I'm here, buds! Let's discuss the show!

Popsicle is the super pseudo-aggressive poster who purposely injects counter productive arguments to prop up his own views which in themselves are scattered.

Honestly, to say that people didnt like True Detective season 1 because it was set in creepy as fuck backwoods Louisiana is retarded. Of course they did. The mood and atmosphere were probably one of the shows most quality and interesting aspects. MM was just so transcendent in that role, Rust took the show to unparalleled heights. There is no fucking way True Detective season 2 can live up to season 1. And it shouldnt have to.

All of the critic guys who got the first 3 ep screeners even said they werent totally sure where the show was going and hadn't really got its feet under it yet. There is still time for the season to redeem itself and have a convincing and satisfying resolution. Velcoro alone deserves the chance. Still one of the better TV characters I have seen in a while. Farrel's weird, curt speech delivery is unnerving but amazing. I feel like that Velcoro is the "True" detective when its all said and done like someone has already mentioned. Its already being heavily foreshadowed with black state lady basically telling McAss to fuck him LOL.

Can't bring myself to watch this last episode. Am I missing anything? Don't want to read in case it actually got good?

Where did I say people didn't like season 1 because of the setting, or even shouldn't? It was a great setting, because they actually used it, and people should have appreciated that, and did. A worse show, like True Blood, isn't suddenly great because it happens to be set in small-town Louisiana. Just like there are a ton of shows and movies that managed to make California interesting; for instance, David Lynch, which ironically we're getting ripoff scenes and nods to.

The setting didn't make season 1 great, the show made great use of the setting.

Just like the setting isn't inherently uninteresting in season 2, they just aren't using it very well.

We finally got to see some mediocre tits for like 3 seconds partly submerged under water! Oh, and did you know the motorcycle cop is a gay?!

Oh, wait, shit, more major spoilers: another character made a crack about e-cigs!

Because I'm as lazy as Vince Vaughn's acting and don't want to hold shift for two letters. And/or he's so fucked this performance his two V's are now conjoined in holy asstrimony.

Blue diamonds are blue because of boran, largest mine on the planet supposedly happens to be next to Vernon. So one crazy theory was leading to them finding a blue diamond mine ect and putting things in motion. Most likely its quick cash but interesting theory

Said in the ballers thread but VV and the rock need to switch roles. They would be better off
