I agree. I thought his acting job was both harder and better performed. Harrelson had to show more range, MM mostly just had to look troubled and cool.

Woody did a fine job in season 1, but his character was more stock than MM's was. The philandering, alcoholic cop has been done a million times. MM's character, and his unique perspective on the universe, along with his hyperosmia, and the way MM knocked the acting out of the park made Rust probably the best television character of all time. I didn't have a problem with Woody's acting, but comparing it to what MM did last season is like comparing Pauly Shore to Marlon Brando.

Notice the alligator vs anaconda fight on the painting on the wall! But yeah that scene was a bit lynchian, which is ok in a dream sequence, but weird here (since it stands out). Maybe the idea is to step into the strange when it comes to the russian mobster to give him a kind of "anything can happen / almost supernatural evil" vibe or maybe the idea is to multiply the animal references (animal masks, totems at Antigone's father's place, etc), but either way, it did not work so well. That and the white mask of the car burner are the only two things that really bothered me so far.

I think Khane's problem is with spoiling the end of Watchmen.
