Yeah, they should have set that up better. Maybe have Frank insult them or something previously, or have it mean something when he burned down the clubs like he was abandoning a deal he had made with them.
That would have made some sense at least.

pretty much. terrible overlong piece of shit. the season was a mess, it wasnt about karma or corruption, those things had been established much earlier and it was just backdrop with the hundred other things going on. so basically chick heads to venezuiala, then goes to meet up with red and they tell the story with evidence they easily could have done much earlier before anyone had to die, it would have cleared everyone as well. but they sat on it til now? dumb shit. if they have a third season i will give it a few episodes to see if it improved, if they dont get their shit together, then i am done. maybe i wont even bother to do that. there was no need for this pretentious trainwreck of a finale to be 90 minutes. it was no breaking bad finale.

Anyone in the "this season was boring and long and pointless" boat now has to accept the fact that they share an opinion about cinema that coincides with Chuks. Just think about that.
I thought it was awesome. Finale was depressing as fuck and maybe didn't give me the closure the way I normally like my closure and maybe the crime and criminals weren't on s1 level but the show did everything else so damn well that it didn't matter. Sucks Ray never wins anything. I was anxious from the time he went to the cabin for the next 20m

At least season finale got very realistic, white cops shooting down a black guy being stabbed on the floor.
This season wasn't awful, it had some good moments and the actors did in my opinion a very good especially when you see how the writing is sometimes very bad. Problem is, first season happened and it was way, way better than this. They've changed the scope of the show, from a square regular investigation about murders and the catch of the serial killer to a way larger scope, city / statewide corruption with different stories and setups. Also second season is more about wasted lives, while at first season's end they find peace, at the end none of season 2 none of what they did really mattered. Chessani Jr is becoming mayor while the maxicans are right behind him in suits, the asian guy became governor and the weasel cop is chief of police. While Frank, Motocop and Ray are dead.

Lol at people hating on me or whoever else for giving the show credit. Different strokes for different folks, some people followed along just fine, others didnt. Oh well.
I thought it was compelling TV and would watch again. The test results being positive for Velcoro at the end was an unseen twist. I also liked how they left the true resolution open ended. Yea all the bad people reaped all the benefits at the end, but the other shoe has yet to drop. I like that resolution model. The protagonists dont live happily ever after, but there is just enough information there for the viewer to believe it could.

For all its flaws I watched the whole season and don't consider it a train wreck or the worst thing ever like some.
But it certainly wasn't great, and deserves criticism. It was cliche. Over done and trying too hard.
The killer was a nothing throwaway that comes back in the end. Just like season 1. People figured it out weeks ago because it was so obvious and sloppy. And the scene in the train station was all time bad. And the shit with caspere fucking his own whore daughter was just more throwaway trying to be dark and gritty and just being useless and lost in the mix,

That whole Caspere fucking his own daughter thing was a bit silly. Like they felt they needed an homage to Oedipus but with a father and daughter instead of mother and son. I liked a lot of the season but also didn't like a lot of it as well. The scene with Frank and red where he was trying to get her to leave was a shining example of what I didn't like. It was just terribly written and poorly acted and I wanted to fast forward through the whole thing, but then there was the shootout at the cabin which I thought was great and VV did a good job with.

I thought it was more of a mixed bag. The part with Ray going into and through the station and the music they used was really good. The confessional with police chief was just lazy.
The ending, with the new generation of corrupt fucks taking their places, felt like it was trying to copy the "world keeps on spinning, the same as it ever was" close of The Wire.
