It would have been more funny if you said disabled retards.. because a chunk of them are people who more or less have some kind of disability, sickness, or tism.. and to another extent mental illness like social anxieties. It's less adult males pretending to be females, and probably closer to ugly people doing hotline esq options. Also keep in mind, seiyu/voice acting are also godlike celebrity status in Japan; so pursuing a career essentially doing voice work isn't that farfetched.

As far as raunchy/sexualized vtubers, most of them stick with big booba and not loli.. but what do I know; I don't actually watch much of any outside of the occasional clips.

Non japanimation people think anime girls are under age because the art style makes characters look younger and less age beaten than real women.

IMO its not so much the physical depiction.

Naive view of things, overblown reaction to mundane things, purposely not pronouncing words correctly, "little" affect. Those are the mannerisms of a child.

It will depend on the audience if this point stands, if most of the audience is Japanese then sure but if not then that is not how its being perceived, right?
