this is a pre civil war view of america as "these united states" and not "THE united states"He has this strange disconnect where the federal government is somehow not the USA.
"Not infowars"You need to define "respected media" here.
But Nevada didn't exist as it does today until the end of the civil war.this is a pre civil war view of america as "these united states" and not "THE united states"
The 'these united states' people believe that the post-civil war federal government overreached in its handling of the west (in addition to everywhere else). So they're not saying we should go back to the good old days of Nevada being a free state, but rather that the federal government should have never intervened in Nevada in the first place. But Nevada didn't exist as it does today until the end of the civil war.
I have a hunch that Bundy was home schooled. And not the fancy liberal book-learning kind of home schooling.
on the other hand, you wouldn't have half the world enslaved to maintain your standard of living.#counterpoint, without strong federal government we wouldn't be engaged in a world empire that's been running on a wartime budget (1/4 to 1/3rd defense spending) since the 1930's
I don't really disagree with your overall premise, I think trade is a good thing. But both China and Vietnam have plenty of forced labor:So you think that China and Vietnam etc would be BETTER off if the US wasn't buying a ton of shit from them? You know those factories aren't forcing anyone to work there right?
I doubt anyone would disagree with this.we have entirely different conceptions of history then
Fair enough, but those people aren't working in an iPhone factory. From what I've heard those Foxconn jobs that somebody writes an expose about every few months are generally considered very desirable jobs compared to the alternatives in the area.I don't really disagree with your overall premise, I think trade is a good thing. But both China and Vietnam have plenty of forced labor:

Have you ever been to the States? I think the people you are imagining as this Bundy bunch are prime Wal-Mart clientele.on the other hand, you wouldn't have half the world enslaved to maintain your standard of living.#
but then again, the bundy bunch doesn't strike me as the type of people who need a new smartphone every 6 months and all the other consumerist shit we've come accustomed to
