Al'Qaeda is supposedly running the show for the opposition.. since they seemingly have endless armaments from who knows where. So let's say for example we cripple the state's military, then out Bashad... what's next? How do we not put boots on the ground to keep Al'Qaeda from just seizing power?

You know he's correct, right? And there's something very peaceful about saying, "I think this is right. I know I have the legal authority to do this. But I want everyone to vote before I do this."
Which authority is that?

@ Tuco - I think it is more of a case of who 'wins' politically as well as what are their real options for an actual transition and not just a revenge tantrum like what you guys have been doing.

If he doesn't declare war, he's limited to like 6 weeks or some shit before he has to request Congressional approval.

The question is, if a president engages in those types of strikes, and then Syria/Iran launch missiles at Israel, is there any Congressman or Senator who wouldn't, at that point, vote to authorize war, excepting the absolute most vehemently anti war like Bernie Sanders or the most intransigent anti Obama Republicans like Cruz and Paul, the latter of which I could actually see voting for war at that point as well, even if it was something they'd have to agree with Obama on.

Sounds like a case of 'what does my district get out of declaring war?'
That's why the first Presidential candidate who says, "Guys. I can't change shit until you vote out the worthless members of Congress, and start taking a REAL interest in putting quality people in those roles. Government is really done at the lowest levels." will get my vote.

"Hope" and "Change" can't occur from the POTUS.

Clearly he's heavily invested in the military industrial complex.

Come clean Tuco. Are you a plant for Lockheed Martin?

The last I saw Graham and McCain were complaining that the strikes Obama has talked about would be too small and they wanted enough force to effect regime change. I assume if they vote no it'll be because the attack isn't big enough to suit their desires.

Too aggressive for doves, not aggressive enough for hawks. That's why it made me laugh. And there's a glimmer of truth in it.

Sometimes a moderate stance is straight up retarded. I say this as a self identifying moderate.

Weird exchange between Chris Wallace and John Kerry about getting a Syria strike decision from Congress. Wallace sounds as if he is disappointed that Obama is including Congress. He also seems to suggest that we should go to war just because some Syrian newspaper called us chicken?

If Congress votes against military action & Obama then does not use military action, I'll call him a great president.

What if congress votes no, Obama doesn't follow through, and then Syria gasses more people?
