With how big the eyewall is, I think it'd have to go VERY far west for Miami not to get fucked.

It may not matter if it keeps inching to the west, the wind field plus the storm surge is still going to mess shit up in Miami. I would think the thing would have to go out into the Gulf for Miami not to be affected as much.

I wonder how many are crazy enough to just stay in the Keys/Miami/etc and try to ride it out? Even my friends in Tampa are shuttering their windows and shit.

They are saying 140 mile diameter hurricane force wind zone. I think that doesn't spare much of Florida if the aim is true(ish). Be fucking safe, any of you who are there. This is the real deal.

Back in the days that I actually enjoyed Anderson Cooper back when he halfway reported with neutrality and as a fake straight man, I enjoyed watching him get blown around by hurricanes live.

Everyone has officially shifted a bit west now. Looks real bad for Edko's home. I hope he was renting.
Impact appears to hit the glades once it mows down the keys so that will take a bit of impact. The problem is it is so low it really won't weaken it much before Naples and now Miami is in the deadly and strongest wind quadrant.

if the hurricane goes straight up the state, its going to fuck everything in the bottom half up, but it will lose intensity rapidly with the eye no longer being over water. With as large as the wind field is, the only way Miami isn't getting hit is if Irma swerves all the way west into the Gulf.

If ever seen Adam Sandler movies you'll know how serious this is.
Don't fuck with Pacman. Stay safe all those in the path.

Pretty crazy that the entire state of Florida has been basically ordered to evacuate. We may never see something like this in our lifetimes again.

No way we ever see a 914mb again imo. Shame while it was out and strong it didn't nail 190+ to top that record. I think it has broke about every other one.

Never say never when it comes to Mother Nature. No one thought a storm this big was even possible in the Atlantic. It resembles some of the monster Super Typhoons in the Western Pacific.
