SS sucks only because it's 3 times a week. I'm not saying it's a bad program, but I prefer to be in the gym 5 days a week hitting every body part. SS is definitely great for beginners and building strength.

It goes both ways, of course. Programs like SS are great for people with limited time because it shows you how to get the most out of the limited time you have for the gym.

It's also great for maximal novice strength gains. The days you don't lift are just as important as the days you do.

Arguing whether one feels more full from 100calories of fat vs 100calories of protein is a waste of time.
Do you really think that a tbsp of olive oil (119 calories) is as filling as 105g of roast chicken slices (119 calories)...jesus words fail me

Maybe you should question why you have such a hunger issue. Are you sure you're eating enough? I eat a mixture of carbs/fats/protein and rarely ever feel hungry unless it's right before a meal. And if it isn't, I squash the feeling because I'm likely going to bed soon anyway. Gonna let your stomach boss you around like that?

I wish I could make myself not feel hungry. It must be a mental thing, because it's rare that I'm not hungry. For example, a page or two back someone mentioned how 500g of chicken is a ton of food, but I was thinking, "No way, I could down that in a single meal easily." Hell, the other day I ate two pounds of ground beef with two diced peppers and an onion just for lunch.

I've tried eating all the stuff people claim makes you feel full, like fiber and protein and whatnot, but it never works.

WTF McCheese. 2 pounds of 93/7 beef is 1360 calories. And that sounds pretty boring at that. You can make a whole batch of chili with those ingredients and a few others. Or some nachos. But you just browned up some beef, tossed in some pepper and onion and ate it all?

Ugh.

What I say, "Arguing whether X or Y is true is a waste of time."
What you hear, "X IS CORRECT, PLEASE ARGUE Y SOME MORE"

It was a little more involved than that. I also used ginger root, jalapeno peppers, garlic, salt, pepper, olive oil, and chili oil. My point was that it takes A LOT of food to fill me up and keep hunger away, no matter if I'm eating a ton of protein, fiber, carbs, whatever. I honestly get jealous when I read here about some people eating a burger and small order of fries from Five Guys and feeling full.

Sounds to me like your stomach is stretched out, gotta fast for a while and let it restore itself.

It's not an argument though, it's a recognised fact that protein is more filling than fats and carbs....and quite frankly it's laughable that you think a tbsp of olive oil is as filling or as satisfying as 100g of chicken.

How much do you weigh at the moment and how tall... I too am amazed that you're hungry with so much meat, sometimes I decide to skip the evening steak and just top off the earlier 900g chicken with a lighter meal, eg white fish or just skip the last meal entirely.

Have you tried smaller more frequent meals = eg 5x200g meat. I typically eat at 830am, 11, 1, 4 and post workout.

Meh, I'm feel for McCheese, I eat enormous quantities of food in one sitting. My nightly meal is usually a salad with a minimum of 2 heads of Romaine lettuce (or rough equivalent in other leafy green) with a whole bunch of other vegetables plus probably about 500 grams (about a pound) of some meat or maybe half a roaster. If I skip the salad I'll usually eat the whole roaster. Then some fruit after usually.

Of course I only eat 1 meal a day and am not usually hungry again until dinner time the following day, so it is all relative I suppose. My appetite does bite me in the ass around holidays though.

Oh that's your guys' dumb ass argument? lol. No wonder you two are so muddled in shit. You're missing the ball completely.
Actually apparently he was having a different argument with himself. My entire point was that past a certain point protein has zero benefits. Satiety is a matter of eating enough calories and not eating quickly digested calories, like simple carbs. Even the study he linked about a "high protein" diet with carbs vs fats used my number for the amount of protein, because that is what is considered a high amount of protein in the medical community (since it is a higher amount than any study has ever found to have a benefit, barring steroids). So once protein is covered and you have the minimum amount of fat needed to make your organs function, you need to pick between fat or carbs. Going extreme into fat (roughly 2g of fat for every 1g of protein) and no more than 50g of carbs at most (less than 20g is better, though dietary fiber doesn't count) is a Ketogenic diet. Something less extreme, like Atkins, still cuts pretty far back on carbs, you feel full because of all the fat.

Though since fullness has been linked to psychological factors, it is possible a person who doesn't believe the science won't feel full even if they are. There have been instances of people with issues like that eating till they rupture their stomachs.

Satiety is subjective and dependent on so many different factors. And I think you give it too much weight, anyway

Which is normal. If you're eating a caloric deficit you're going to feel hungry at some point. Keto diets aren't as bad in that regard, because your body gets good at using fat for energy and starts cannibalizing any fat reserves you have.
