Put lettuce in it. Skip the crouts if you can.
Croutons are the best part. When I go to Ruby Tuesday (one of the few remaining salad bars) my salad consists of croutons, ham strips, cheese, and blue cheese dressing. It's heavenly.

*Edit* Sadly, Ruby Tuesday only has those little black croutons which aren't quite as good as the large, Italian style. However, they make a good base due to their smaller nature and they're easier to scoop up with a spoon.

Regarding Noodle's weight gain: have you checked how much sodium you're getting with your diet? If you're keeping calories low but going really high in sodium + drinking lots of fluids you're probably going to get a ton of water retention to artificially inflate your weight.

What is the ruling on bacon in your salad ?

I mostly eat prepacked salads for convinience and so i can accurately track the calories. Most of them have chicken and bacon so i don't need dressing.

Good job. I'd say it's a win any time your weight goes up but your body fat goes down. I don't remember if you mentioned it before: how tall are you?

Make sure you keep downing the coconut oil to continue shaving off that body fat!
I'm 5'11 1/2" half a gd inch from 6ft!

Here are my trends from when I started weighing and reading body fat %. The 174lb starting weight was from the last time I weighed over a year ago.

So starting weight of 183lbs and starting Body Fat% of 21.9%

EDIT: Also keep in mind I started working out and counting calories back in October, I wish I would have gotten pics/measurements then.

You can't be too careful, better put some garlic on that coconut oil.

I have been eating better (salads with grilled chicken, no snacks at night) and my weight went up like 6 pounds in one week. Not really sure what happened, but guess I'll continue this way and see what happens. Not really counting calories or anything, just trying to make smarter choices. I'm definitely feeling better, so that's what matters. Going to try to start hitting the gym this week, I keep putting it off.

Strange side effect, after switching my diet I've been doing nothing but extremely hard and big dumps, I like to call them "ass splitters". Probably need more fiber, not sure.
If you're buying those salads at restaurants be really careful, some of them have insanely high calories.

What are you using to measure body fat?
I have one of those scales that sends the electrical signal through your body, I know it's not supremely accurate but it gives me something to work from. I usually take 3 measurements and use the average, almost every time all 3 measurements are the same.

So last time I was in San Diego, I went to Gold's Gym. It was ok. Expensive as crap for visitors ($35 a week).

This time I went to World's Gym. Holy shit, outside of my university gym (only because everything was brand new and college girls), it's the best gym I've ever been to. It's literally lifting. They have a limited amount of cardio shit upstairs, but I didn't see a single person using it. I guess they have a place for people to practice posing too, since I guess lots of bodybuilders go there.

I've also never seen so many massive people in one place, probably including the NFL. There was one dude there who had to have had 21+ inch arms. It was crazy. They also don't have any contracts, and the fees are pretty low (I think $300 for a whole year?). If I'm ever able to move down here permanently, I'd try to live close by just for that gym. A+++++++ would go again.

Someone brought one of those in to work during the last staff biggest loser it seemed pretty good and was thinking of getting one for home.

They're incredibly inaccurate. Don't even bother measuring your body fat unless you're going to do a bod pod or something. The best thing to do is take regular progress pictures so you can compare yourself to previous pictures, and to do tape measurements. Google body fat pictures to get a good idea of what someone your height and body fat looks like. That's honestly the best way to go about it (eyeballing it) outside of going somewhere to have it professionally done...and not with calipers.

I got into a "biggest loser" contest at work. 12 weeks and so far 1 week into it im down 4%, some other fucker was down 4.2% but I got this. The willpower is strong in this one. I need a new graphics card for my PC and the $400 or so will do just nicely.

All ive been doing is eating a 300-400 calorie protein bar at lunch and then a small dinner. Probably around 1500 calories a day if that. IF need be ill get my ass on one of the machines we have here at home, either the treadmill or the elliptical. But that's last resort shit there, lol.

I have one at home and as I'm no longer getting my BF measured weekly with calipers by my PT it's a decent substitute FOR TRACKING PROGRESS. I don't think they're wildy inaccurate either - the readings from the device was always within 1% of that weeks caliper readings

For tracking progress nothing beats measurements and photographs. I didn't even own a scale (and still don't) when I originally lost all my weight in 2012, but I took pictures in the same clothes at the same time on the same day every week. I'm sure my weight fluctuated, but the pictures clearly showed visible progress. I probably would have gotten disheartened if I had seen the scale weight jumping around.

So what do they give those people who already got their shit together and are at a healthy weight?
1. Load up on sodium and water the day before and of the first test
2. go about your life as normal
3. Cut as much water weight a couple days before
4. Dominate the fatties

You're better off eating real food instead of a protein bar for lunch. You can eat a substantial amount of food for lunch and still stay under 400 calories and it will be better for you than eating a protein bar which is probably packed with god knows what else besides the protein. For instance this was my lunch today:

5 cups of organic spring mix (lettuce, spinach, etc)
154g of oven roasted, skinless chicken breast
1.5oz of roasted red peppers
1 small stuffed grape leaf
1tsp of olive oil
And some black pepper

That's right at 400 calories.

I can't get behind eating things like clif bars for lunch. They are meant to be sustainable energy for things like camping and hiking trips where space is an issue so you want to pack calorie dense foods to save space but still get the energy you need to keep motoring, they aren't meal substitutes. They also tend to be loaded with sugar.

Thats all great, but aint no one got time for that. If I had a chef making that shit for me everyday (Or a fucking wife that didnt burn water) it be nice. I just dont have time nor money to spare on shit like that.

These are meal replacement high protein /low carb MET/RX bars. High in protein and tons of vitamins. And they cost like $2 ea. Maybe not as good for you as real low calorie food, but it wil have to do. Its only 12 weeks. and I still eat a good well balanced dinner.

Been two weeks without eating sweets and I am harsh craving chocolate and ice cream. I am such a comfort eater and I've been stressed lately so this is torture. I feel like an addict. When does it get easier? lol

Well do what you gotta do but that salad I just listed is from the Stop & Shop salad bar. And it cost me $3.39. You definitely do have time and money to eat right. But whatever.
