I currently have 4 tubs of pre-workout sitting in my kitchen. White Flood Reborn watermelon, White Flood Reborn pineapple (limited edition flavor, most delicious/refreshing supplement I've ever had by a mile though), Ergopump fruit punch, and Fierce Domination blue raspberry. That said, I'm basically just finishing all of these up and after that I will never buy another PWO again. They really don't do a whole lot (I believe most of what I notice is placebo), and for the cost, just aren't worthwhile.

I also have a tub of Allmax creatine mono, which I will likely continue to take. I don't honestly know if it helps (most studies say itdoes), but it's so ridiculously cheap there's no reason not to.

And while I don't technically consider protein a supplement (it's food), I have a 4 lb tub of Pronom 23 vanilla cupcake batter. I thought about just going without a whey protein, but it's such a good source of protein and it's relatively cheap when I can't hit my macros. Been using Pronom for a while now, but I'm thinking about buying some Cellucor. I've heard that cinnamon swirl, corfetti, and peanut butter marshmallow are all delicious.

Cellucor cinnamon swirl is okay, I've got 2 lbs of it in the kitchen but its way too sweet. Syntha-6 is still by far the best tasting protein powder I've ever had, but I like to mix it up.

I'm a roofer, but since my clavicle break they have had me at a desk writing up proposals and invoices.
I'd say that's your problem, you don't need a supplement. It's just that you are sitting down for 8~ hours a day and then when it's time to go home, you feel exhausted. It's happened to me on some slow days where I"m just sitting on my toolbox for 4~ hours and then it's time to go home and I feel like shit.

Granted I have no counter to it outside of find a new job, though caffeine and a light snack before workout could help.

I don't mean like "Oh, I'm tired from work, I think I'll take a nap" I mean after a couple sets of curls, french curls, my muscles are just incapable of lifting any more, even though I don't feel exhausted yet?

I spend most of my work day bored out of my mind, so going to the gym and actually doing something physical is a treat.

I consumed 3500 calories yesterday. It was glorious.

Eggs and Bacon for breakfast, flank steak sandwich with fries for lunch, sushi for dinner, taco bell for fourth meal and plenty of guinness. I might actually gain a little weight this week for the first time since I started tracking my intake.

What's your diet look like? Assuming you're not just having a mental block (which is my first guess), I'd say you're doing low carb and may need to up the amount of carbs you're eating on workout days. Cardio wrecks your energy stores, and if you're trying to lift after an hour of that, you likely have nothing left in the tank.

Thanks for that, you have saved my kidneys. The book I bought said eat 2g/kg minimum but shoot for 4g/kg, however it said over 6 meals when it's nutrition plan appears to only have 5 per day. The 2g/kg sounds perfect for a day and a bit looking at that article but I am confused why they mention as high as double that... maybe those magic money shakes and pills they want me to buy (and I won't) are full of steroids.

Ah well, main reason I bought it was for motivation and the 90% of the book which is excercises.
Someone posted that link on the UP forums and Nicks reply was "utter bollocks"

What was utter bollocks? That that is what the diet plan is, they want us to buy suppliments which have chemicals which increase how much protien you body can take or that it hurt my kidney?

I used quite a lot of piri piri spices when I started the diet to flavour all the chicken, I stopped doing that when my stomach also started to hurt. The pain went away, so either it was a coincidence and my body was adjusting, or is was the spices

It's actually going very well now.

Sounds like a really bad diet plan. The only time a diet should ever require a supplement is a ketogenic diet, and the supplement you should get is Tic Tacs because your breath will be foul while in Ketosis.

It's a shake before and a shake after a workout, one was whey protein and the other was something rediculously expensive from what I could find - though they do sell that shit in giant tubs. Then the book has some pages on all kinds of suppliments I assume they think you can add in.

I must have at least one Viking ancestor, they had muscles without suppliments. Don't mind if it takes longer.

Men still have muscles without supplements. It's called food. Also, it's "supplement" and "ridiculous".

The 12 Week Body Plan is that stupid program that ends with major dehydration so you can take a totally ripped selfie, right?

Those studies saying that there's no benefit to higher amounts of protein. Nick agreed with what I said earlier - when you cut out carbs in order to drop body fat quicker) then you have to increase the protein to compensate. That's why the first weeks diet plan is 4g of protein per kg and your only carb source as green leafy veg. Later on when you start carb cycling (to promote muscle growth) then you can decrease the amount of protein. And funnily enough those studies linked don't talk about the rest of the diet just protein.

As for "wanting" you to buy supplements - do you see any links to supplement stores in the book. Do you think Nick benefits if you buy 1kg of protein and a tub of creatine from myprotein or bulkpowders. He's listed the same supplements Joe took to get the results he did and probably the same supplements he recommends to his personal training clients - it's up to you if you take them or not. Personally I stick with protein, BCAAs, fish oil, creatine and vitamin D..

I've done a couple of half assed cycles of the plan - Christmas and a wave of birthdays this year kinda derailed my progress but I'm gonna do at least the first 4-6 weeks to get leaner before I move onto his 6wp so if you have any other questions just let me know

No selfie - the book actually details getting a tan, getting a wax, booking a professional photoshoot (and pre-ordering a pizza the night before to eat the next day in addition to a sodium loaded fried breakfast) and doing pre shoot weights to get a good pump

Is Ossoi still on his trip about how impartial scientific studies can't possibly be right, but a personal trainer with no actual science background couldn't possibly be wrong if he disagrees with twenty years of controlled studies? All of which have been peer reviewed and reproduced?

So... It's a really expensive selfie, then?
