There's a difference between spreading the word about a diet that works and claiming that it is the ONLY way to lose weight. Just because calories in vs. calories out didn't work for you doesn't mean it's completely useless for everyone. Likewise, just because restricting sugar was the best way for you to lose weight doesn't mean it's the ideal way for everyone.

*Edit* I think healthy, long-term weight loss is a matter of trial and error for most people. You've got to find the way that best fits your lifestyle, and that will be different for everyone.

... I tried and failed to diet before with the Calories In Calories Out dogma. Shit never worked for me.

I found a diet that works. I'll continue to spread the word so other fat fucks know what's up.
Look who's referencing personal stories now.

If you have been around for awhile and seen Himeo's posts on FoH, you would know he's a fairly level headed poster and doesn't typically take this type of stance. He's obviously trolling, and continues to do so because it gets so many of you riled up.

Himeo reminds me of those fat people Fedor always posts. Like that one fat hambeast that said she only ate 1200 calories per day and burned over 2000 but wasn't losing any weight.

In the end, I'm glad you lost weight. But seriously calm down fatty.

Every reasonably intelligent person I know would agree that crushing a large Papa John's pizza then guzzling down garlic-flavored oil afterwards is unhealthy and would lead to weight gain
Caloric surplus = weight gain. Doesnt matter if youre crushing pizza but just because youre losing weight doesnt mean youre "healthy".

Eidal, you ignore the many many times I tried and failed to diet before with the Calories In Calories Out dogma. Shit never worked for me.
You didnt count calories good enough. Its a common problem. Im glad you found something that works for you tho bro, that is whats important

Restricting carbs is necessary for someone overweight (20% bf+), as this will improve their insulin sensitivity. Once they get leaner (e.g closer to 15% bf) then you can reintroduce carbs by carb cycling (higher carbs on weightlifting days, lower carbs on rest days). This is optimal for fat loss and muscle gain.

Once someone is leaner, there is simply no reason to restrict carbs.
After I stopped keto I was so nervy eatting a bunch of carbs again. Went from 30-50g max daily to ~200g. I didnt gain any weight back when I reintroduced carbs and I am continuing to slowly lose around 1lb a week. Hoping my EC stack will bump it to like 1.5

I like IF a lot because Id usually force down breakfast under the impression it was important I needed to. I really dont have an issue making it till 2pm before eating. I feel like a drink wayyyy more water cause Im using it to suppress my appetite all morning and it feels a lot easier tracking my calories too. Fuckin last night due to being busy and running around I ended up having to eat 1200cal within the last 45min of my eating window. That alone makes it worth it to me regardless if training while in a "fasted" state helps at all.
I missed this among Himeo's retardation. In the fall and spring I eat in a similar fashion due to my insanely hectic schedule. Often I'll end the day with 1200 - 1500 calories to eat due to being so busy all afternoon and not really eating much, which means I get to gorge on a massive, delicious dinner. It's wonderful.

Yeah I'm the same. With my current BF levels I know I'm lean/insulin sensitive enough to eat carbs. I eat 150-200g of carbs postworkout, yet diets like leangains call for much more carbs postworkout. I know I'll still lose weight but I definitely don't look as shredded with carbs in my diet compared to without - maybe it's just the excess water.

Do you mean 150-200g of carbs throughout the day before you workout? Isn't 200g of carbs a full pizza?
No, I mean 150-200g carbs postworkout, lol?

How do you eat that much post work out? When I am done, I can barely convince my body to have more than water and some hard boiled eggs or peanut butter. I have near zero interest in solid food after 2 hours of class. It isn't because I don't think I need it, my body just starts feeling queasy if I eat a meal.

I have the gel immediately postworkout, it's not a solid food and I have it with my protein shake.

500g of sweet potato is the most I've ever ate, that only happened on Wednesday because I didn't have much meat to eat with it. Normally I'd eat around 300-400g of sweet potato. I cut the sweet potato in cubes, sprinkle some olive oil and cinnamon and roast for 45 minutes - the cubes are very soft and not difficult to eat. This meal is probably 60-90minutes after I finish my workout.

I eat the oatmeal about 30-60minutes before bed to help me sleep.

This kind of goes to the whole Himeo thing above. Just because one person reacts one way to something doesn't mean everyone does. I can eat post workout with no issues. In fact, I'm usually pretty hungry.

I'm absolutely starving after a workout. I usually have 1k calories parceled out just so I can eat a big meal.

I ate half a large pizza yesterday after my race and could have probably stuffed another one or two in there but I wanted to save room for beer. Eating after a hard workout is the best thing ever.

So I'm joining a dragon boat team. I really needed to find some kind of regular exercise for my upper body, but I don't like the idea of going to a gym.

I have a feeling this is going to suck hard for the first couple of weeks...

The math wasn't the problem. Staying on a diet when feeling tired all the time and desperately hungry was the problem.

Now, it's a reasonable argument to say that the caloric deficit was too big. But that ignores the dietary advice that most doctors and weight loss "experts" add on. Avoid fat, eat healthy complex carbs, etc. It's a recipe for failure.

"Most" experts say that?

I think it's much more common advice to avoid trans fats and eat complex carbs instead of simple carbs

Anyone who's not peddling bullshit advocates fat, and yes, in years past there was a huge ass problem with fat free dieting. I remember people slamming fat free cookies and ice cream like they were free of calories.
