Lol at ranch being gross. Ranch is god-tier in terms of dipping sauces. My favorite pizza hut pizza ever (besides stuffed crust) was the one that was cut into long thin strips and came with ranch dipping sauce.

Light ranch tastes like gasoline. If you're going to eat ranch you might as well go all the way and embrace your inner fatty.

I just never understood the"dip everything in ranch"crowd, I'd rather put hot sauce on everything.

Why not both? Buffalo chicken pizza rolls dipped in ranch. Delicious. In fact, my local super market has a rack of Ranch Dressing bottles hanging off the door of the pizza roll freezer.

All of this sounds really stupid, just so you know. It's far from negligible lol.
If you lost significant muscle mass while cutting, then bulking/cutting cycles wouldnt be a thing. I am not saying you are going to BUILD MUSCLE while cutting, but if youre not at an elite level of weight lifting, you will still add weight to some if not all lifts through improving technique/noob gains(which I seem to still be taking advantage of after more than a year of pretty serious lifting). Id imagine when youre getting to the upper elite level of lifting this will change, but no one on this board is at that level so whatev

This ranch actually tastes really good and is pretty low cal. Can get at any grocery store. Bolthouse farms has some pretty good stuff.

I'm laughing so hard right now. Thought I clicked the Marriage thread, and started with "Ohh this is an interesting derail..."

Read back a couple pages going "What the actual fuck is going on?!" before I figured it out. Hahaha, laughing so hard, fucking idiot.

I bet if some of the depressed divorced guys had spent some time in this thread they wouldn't be depressed and divorced.

No; people are pretty fucking fantastic at rationalizing their way out of things they don't want to do. My father's entire side of the family is morbidly obese and can sit around and rationally discuss how bad it is and how its fucked up that the next generation's life expectancy is lower for the first time, ever... but they fail to fucking see how disgusting it is that they set this example by being fat and lazy. At least once an hour there is a quick circlejerk about how everyone in the room is 150 IQ. They're also pretty keen to talk shit about smokers and drinkers. My aunt gives me a look when I use too much table salt, shes probably 250+lbs 5'6.

Ugh.

The amount of calories and saturated fats in ranch dressing is so negligible, that it should not even matter. If you're pouring that shit by the bottle down your mouth, then yes, that is a problem. I still can't fathom not even wanting to TRY a vegetable or fruit. You miss out on so much. Do you like pies? And I ain't talking about no butthole, either..

Eidal: Tell that ho, "Bitch, I got hyponatremia."

Its 75-100 calories a tablespoon and Americans have a ridiculously skewed concept of proportions. Think of how many obese women you see drinking a 260 calorie soda on their 1800 calories/day caloric allotment? She'll put a few tbsp of ranch on her salad and now that's 15-20 percent of her daily calories.

That isn't negligible... and 1 tbsp feels like a pretty small measurement to me. I certainly don't construct "healthy" caesar salads =P

It's negligible when we're talking about people who actually work out or do something to burn calories -- that's what I was talking about. And, an obese person going from 3000+ calories (lets be honest, it's probably closer to 6000+) dropping down to 1800 calories in a day or two is going to cause some headaches.

People make the mistake of thinking it's the dressing that makes salads unhealthy. But the dressing is pretty negligible even if you're drenching it and adding ~200 calories. It's all the bacon and cheese and shit like that causing the issue. Cover your salads in that stuff and you're adding like 600 calories.

I can easily eat 400+ calories worth of ranch dressing in 1 setting if I'm hungry and eating a big salad. And using "regular" ranch. 400 calories of light ranch would be a lot harder to achieve since it's usually about half or less calories for the same amount of volume.

That's a lot of fucking dressing. Why even bother with the lettuce/greens at that point? Just drink it right from the bottle.

Without a lot of dressing it tastes like bland, crunchy garbage. As much as I love vegetables, even I will admit that iceberg lettuce needs a ton of dressing or other flavor to make it have any taste.

That said, I'm with Eidal in that it's a matter of portion issues. For the vast majority of Americans, 1 tbsp is pretty much nothing. I don't know anyone who puts 1 - 2 tbsp of dressing on their salads. I've never measured, but eyeballing it I probably do 4 - 5 tbsp on a standard salad (at places like Ruby Tuesday where you can get as much as you want. When it's pre-made I get whatever they give me).

I definitely only put 1-2 tbsp of dressing on my salad, and it's more than enough. But I also have chicken and pickled veggies on my salads too to add to the flavor. 2 oz of dressing is more than enough to cover an entire salad.
