This guy sounds like the idiots on Reddit who just blame the "suits" all the time in businesses. Ad rates have dropped across the board. There is less money out there so gotta cut and try to do with less or close down. You need to be really lean to run a youtube channel now a days.
This goes back to a lesson I have seen failed over and over in both content circles, and in almost every aspect of business....
- A small group of people have an idea/content/way of doing something which they are passionate about, and people like.
- They build that small idea/thing up into a small company/organization. They find a niche and start making a little money.
- They get the idea that "With some more funding we could go big with this!!!"
- In comes venture capital
- Original owners think they're smart enough to beat VC people at their own game...
- They are NEVER correct in this assumption
