Visions are kind of bleh in my opinion. The "ever shifting" part of the tower is cool but my fear is it will be about as exciting as the Tower in Final Fantasy. Just like Visions or the Crack Army, once you build up enough grind it will be easily completed with almost no challenge.

They become bleh just for the reason you say, eventually there is no challenge left. Of course, that's what happens when you throw them in for the final patch of an expansion (although seems pretty clear it was a testing ground for the Tower/future similar systems). This Tower being the planned major feature for the whole expansion you'd at least hope they could change it up over the course of it to increase the challenge and variety so it doesn't become "meh".

That's literally their goal. It's an 'infinite scaling' system when they first started talking about it, much like m+ keys there will always be a number you can push to.

I mean, they're tying legendaries to it which I almost think is a mistake for people that don't like this sort of content.. but I imagine you won't have to push very hard to get your items.

I'd be cool with them going the mage tower route and just making it so the hardest shit rewards crazy tmogs.

Yeah I hope they do as well. The legendary thing just sort of relies on how gated it feels to me imo. They need more rewards from difficult content imo. I still haven't done all my 15s yet though but that's all I've wanted out of m+ since it started like arenas, to get titles and mounts. Glad they finally did it.

I hope there's some crazy shit DEEP in that tower where you know if somebody has it they're the ultimate no-lifer.

I mean, thats been the biggest complaint about WoW for years now right? You can get carried through Mythic dungeons and/or raids, so that's off the table. But if you have a transmog or w/e cosmetic that proves you can do it - thats whats up.

The Mage tower was great, this Shadowlands rogue-lite system can be done in groups as well as solo can't it? If it's purely solo that would be kind of a stupid thing to make one of the major gameplay mechanics of an entire expansion in an MMO.

It is just like visions with respect to groups. You can use any group size up to 5 with any roles.

Correct, but also to add on to the "So you can't get carried" rewards: visions you only get the title if you solo run, so I imagine they'll do that in the tower as well.

By can't catch a break you mean they finally won't be top 3 in raid dps after two full expansions?
Ironically they probably will still be in the top 3 again. They just feel like shit when you are solo and feel clunky still when you are in group content. Its not that they can't put out numbers it just feels like you are fighting all of their mechanics to do it.

In Legion, you could cheese that meter so bad on so many fights. I know of a few, that if I were still playing one here in BFA, that I could cheese the fk out of as well. They are no where near helping to "get the job done" during these bosses, but I get to show everyone how big my meter is. Byoingggg!

Seriously, here is the flaw with the class. Even Bellular or w/e says it in his video. The difference between someone that is skilled at the class versus the person that tops out skill level wise at normal difficulty is night and day. They keep adjusting the class, and how its played cause the top 2% of people playing the class dwarf other peoples DPS. The second top 10% of people that play the class, play at a level that matches the top 2% of people playing other classes, and may even do better. I feel bad for the Spriest class - In legion, it was organic and graphically cool as fk. They needed to neuter Surrender to Madness and stop there. Instead, they kept S2M in a "milder" state, and started "adjusting" other parts of the class so they could keep S2M.

The Spriest forum has vocally spoke out about how to fix the class, (Funny enough, Bellular says in that same video about how "his ideas" would fix that class, but the forum community had been talking about those same ideas far before he made his lil' video. Lame ass fker.) but no, thats not how Blizzard works. They dont take feed back, they do things their own way. But fk, if I had my head so far up my ass that I only looked at the WoW forums - I'd ignore that shit too.

The good news is every player on this board is in the top 2% of players so it should be fine for here.

That's not what I'm implying, or trying to get across. The class itself is fine the way it was in Legion, replacing S2M with something that isnt ape shit retarded. Surrender to Madness, even on paper, was a bad idea. The idea was more "cool" than making sense. They are neutering the class with each iteration, so that the top 2% of the FOTM players will no longer play the class - and it'll be left with your average player doing subpar DPS because they cant work out the idea behind the math on how to control the skilled players. Hell, why cant the class just have diminishing returns on S2M? Or, how hard would it have been to recode S2M so that the idea of it was to balance your haste against your insanity? Go to much into insanity and you'll die. Dont cast shit fast enough and you'll lose S2M and go back to normal. The idea was already to stay in S2M as long as you could before you die, but now you just have to have controlled timing so you dont lose it and you dont die. Role playing guyzzzzzzz, Gee Willikers!

This seems useless considering they are adding more buttons to almost every class.
FFXIV has a lot of buttons(24 to 32 or so depending on the class) and it works fine with a pad, you simply use combinations of triggers to generate new pages of keys(for example hold R1 for set 1, hold L1 for set 2, hold R1 then L1 for set 3, L1 > R1 for set 4, double tap L1 for set 5, double tap R1 for set 6, and then you can switch to an entire new row with R2 and L2). That said the gameplay tends to be slower to permit these changes, GCD is 2.5s and while there's a lot of oGCDs to weave in, it still gives ample time to switch pages to hit the right button as long as you keep the oGCDs easily accessible. And then a lot of muscle memory is needed. But number of buttons isn't really necessarily a big factor.

Plus the fact that for a lot of players doing easy content, they don't really hit all their buttons to begin with.
