I think gear in the 71-79 range is almost non-existent, because.. unless I'm wrong - there just isnt a way for any highly skilled crafter to make it? Like my Blacksmith, I specialized in armors first. So a lot of that stuff is just R4 from the very get-go, without using HQ mats. Unless there is a mat that you can get like a Missive that retards the item level a bit so you can make <540 gear?
I just dont know cause I never really played DF more than a handful of days so this crafting system is still something "new" to me. I like that you can go to the Crafting Order's NPC and basically build whatever item you're looking for though, and see what it looks like and what materials are needed to get it to the item level you want it to be at. ... I do not like the fact that you can only have two embellishments equipped, though. Theyre pretty fucking weak tbh, and I havent seen where any specific one changes any playstyle past the "you now do more damage!" on the first one, and the second one being "Your embellishment now does twice the amount of damage!" ... Or it raises stats, or something else thats passive and barely noticeable.
I've always wanted the option to be able to rip off a trinkets passive effect in a weaker form. Like, now you get an absorb shield with this embellishment that shields you for 1.3 million HP with a CD of 2 minutes, instead of a 2.6 million HP shield in the trinkets original power. Shit like that sounds way cooler, even though more troublesome. But sure, I guess its way easier to balance something that is essentially 0.05% difference in your survivability or DPS.
