Damnit Mal.I have no faith in a movie that replaces a letter in the title with the sequel number.
apart from that split second in the trailer, i havent seen the Z replaced with the #2 in any of the promotional postersI have no faith in a movie that replaces a letter in the title with the sequel number.
Look at these boards, though. Everyone here bitches about 10 dollar tickets and complains when the one movie they choose to see a month isn't A+++. So a lot of these people are going to just see one or the other. Our board may lean closer to Deadpool, maybe, but the majority are going to see Zoolander and that's their movie for the week/month. It doesn't matter what genre they are (though they're both basically comedies), more people are going to opt for Zoolander 2 vs Deadpool in the general public. One is an ultraviolent comic book movie with a self-aware protagonist.
The other is a comedy about a goofball male model.
From the average movie goer's point of view they couldn't be more diametrically opposed.
There's a decent amount of overlap for the people that want to see those movies. Switch one of them out with some Twilight or Romantic Comedy shit and that would be much less the case. One is an ultraviolent comic book movie with a self-aware protagonist.

It's more about the demo they target and not so much the type of movieOne is an ultraviolent comic book movie with a self-aware protagonist.
