Same rules apply: the next Civ will be about a third of a whole game, they'll release 1-3 "expansions" aka "stuff we didn't have time to implement before deadline and production will spin it as game service anyway", QA will be a no-show, modders will mod, leaguers will league, Gandhi is a bully, some obscure civs will be OP, cheaters will cheat, and 1-2 years ahead CivVII will be good enough so everyone and their chaGPT grandmother will still play CivVI because like FIFA and any other yearly faggotry of a live service scam, they'd rather enjoy themselves rather have to deal with "any of that new thing".

By the way, will Civ 7 keep the CLIMATE CHANGE mechanic?

Maybe they can add some BLM riots when you get to 21st century

Global warming has been around since civ 3 at least. Who cares if there's some fictional mechanic in a game like this. Sinking the planet below the waves is fun.

man memba how in civ 4 you'd get various tech before you got the means to equalize out. like when you got coal plants you got some green faces, but it wasn't till you got a few more techs you got enough healthy +++ to make up for it. man that was good.

i wish 5 had had more of that..

and 6...

and soon 7.

Four was the height of the series, not close. Near-perfect game. Culture bombing people was fucking LULZ though.

Five was good too though. The officers in my old guild used to play some late-night games, and one little racist fuck would constantly spam priests to turn his enemies into Jews just so he could call them Jews.

Civ 5 is still in my Steam Top 10 after all these years. I'm certain the reason Civ 4 didn't make the cut is because my playtime is split between base Civ 4, Civ 4: Beyond the Sword, Civ 4: Colonization, Civ 4: Warlords, and Civ 4: Electric Boogaloo. I wish I had Steam data for my hours spent on Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, though.

Global warming was in Civ 1.

Won't buy this ducking thing just like I didn't buy 6, unless this gets stellar feedback and the ai doesn't stick. Harriet Tubman...

The next "new" civ game I play may end up being a true successor to 4 created by fans through Ai agents. Could happen within 5 years.

Civ 4 is old enough that I bought a hard copy from a brick and mortar so none of my playtime shows up on Steam. All of those old games in the Hall of Fame, lost forever.

Alright boys who's paying $120 to play their single player game 5 days early with 8 more leaders you'll ignore and just play Rome or Greece anyway?

I might do it depending on how bored I am. But it will be the $99 if so.

But 99.5% more likely I wait for the 11th release.

i'm not paying shit till i learn how 'good' the civ gameplay is. negative points for each fat black obscure world leader they shoehorn in. negative points for each game-halting-leader moment where they have to change to a seperate 3d model so i can just say. "what? why did you even ask this. go away"

i didn't even know how the packs were set up. man talk about some nickle and diming. "pree order to be "tecumseh" dawg. you know you want to:

The price isn't objectively outrageous, but civ suffers from some pretty intense competition, from itself no less. The full freight gets you like 5 other 4x games of your choice, which is a hard comparison from anyone who hasn't played every other game of this type and gotten bored of them all.
