That seems to be the overall consensus. I'm sticking with Civ 6 for awhile. This one still needs some time in the oven.

The reviewer is trying really hard to sell the readers on the game which almost certainly means that the game is total shit

I watched both his vids. He comments on the DEI shit as "I don't care nor pay attention, because diversity gud" so that wasn't very useful. Just watching, I get the issues with the UI - it looks like grey ass. Seems like a game to let cook for a bit while they get patches/DLC out, and I'm fine with that.

Why would anyone buy a $70 day1 Civ game anyway, just stick to CivVI until they've released their 2-3 "expansions", 100 patches and it's on sale.

I haven't seen too much of his content but Quill18 has a tutorial/let's play, the first two of which are sponsored by Firaxis/2k, that give a good sense of what starting out is like. To be honest (I have played very little Civ6 but a fair amount of Civ5) it seems like a lot of great improvements, at least in the immediacy of the beginning.

I might try civ 6. I have the game and all the DLC. I guess I got it a while back when they had an "ultimate" sale for super cheap that included a lot of DLC. Never played it.

There's some good comedy in there though !

From the first *positive* review in the list, lol.

The pros of this game outweigh the cons. The UI is abysmal and seems to be designed by grey aliens or some other soulless being. I'm assuming they're gonna change it at some point its that bad. They also locked Napoleon behind making a 2K account so they can harvest and sell your data.

Im such a noob so I dont think I even know what they are raging about. But if you are an old civ 6 player its probably a step backwards on some stuff.

I think I have always bought the Civ games when they go for $5 with 15 DLCs included.

Will be fun to try it at a release, might wait for the 11th though.

They put a gate in front of Napoleon? Trash. Napoleon, Caesar, and Ghengis are always the first three leaders I want to play. Civ 6 slow rolled those three and that put a bad taste in my mouth from the very start, that and not having a Hall of Fame at release. Standing by my decision not to buy this one at release. Sad.
