Datamined information from a Alpha client from a month ago. All I'm saying is let's wait till we get some concrete information before we hang them.Shrug we're all grumpy old men, people will have their own opinion on the datamined information given.
Depth isn't relevant, it's playthrough to do all content, regardless of its quality. It takes a little more than 1hour to do D3 story mode with a 70 DH with Danetta's set, that doesn't mean you'd use that figure to compare to other games. 20hours is an average first playthrough of Borderlands, assuming you're not skipping stuff. You can get it down to a lot less if you know what you're doing and/or are skipping stuff, especially all the useless sidequests but that's not really important.Boderlands main storyline was not 20 hours haha. Ive played that game, and its sequel to death. If you want to say that, then every mission in Destiny counts towards its content, because the Boderlands side missions had as much depth as leveling in WOW.
They already more or less confirmed it tho - Why have a dev comment on mere speculation?Datamined information from a Alpha client from a month ago. All I'm saying is let's wait till we get some concrete information before we hang them.
Well no, there is a whole Diabloesque gear system to work through as well. And they have gated PVP/PVE gear with the raids.I'm going to play the shit out of this game, but I'm expecting 6-10 hour main storyline and then we need to be satisfied with PVP.
Voiced content with specific rewards, most often in areas you didn't have to go for the story quest. Don't get what you're trying to say about wow questing, the main questline is also wow questing, they tell you where to go, what to kill and give you rewards for it. There's a story behind it, and there's a story behind the sidequests and wow quests. You're simply trying to judge content based on its quality and say stuff that you find subpar isn't actually content, but it's there to do.If that is your classification for content then that means every side mission in Destiny is up for grabs, every event.
The Boderlands side questing amounted to WOW questing, kill 3 things and bring it back to me for your reward! so much content OMG
I think that is the problem most of us are having. We are expecting these huge open worlds to explore and are wondering why either the technology isn't there yet or they just choose not to design it that way. What we end up getting is more and more lobby games. Want to know what unrealistic expectations are? Wait till we start getting real info on the Division. People are expecting to be able to explore an open world New York city and it will end up being zoned and instanced up the wazoo like a lobby game.Like I said I'm going to play the shit out of it, I really enjoyed this game a lot in beta. I just have to rein in my expectations a bit I guess.
That was really my first idea that this game was below expectations. I was questing in Old Russia realizing that this map is really small for what it's supposed to be and not seeing another player forever. Then I go back to the tower and see a bunch of dudes just standing around. I can't really communicate with them, we're just kind of there. Then I fly back out.I think that is the problem most of us are having. Shhhh, try not to make too much sense - the white knights will hear you.Like I said I'm going to play the shit out of it, I really enjoyed this game a lot in beta. I just have to rein in my expectations a bit I guess.
I didn't follow this game at all before the beta, so I guess I didn't really have expectations. I really enjoyed the beta and I think the game itself is a lot cooler than Halo, as far as its systems are concerned. A lot of the complaints sound like complaints for MMO games and this really isn't an MMO is almost every sense. As far as them being tight-lipped, I almost feel like there would be less complaints if there were no beta at all. Tons of games don't reveal what kind of content the game will have before it's released.Shhhh, try not to make too much sense - the white knights will hear you.
I agree, I'll buy and play the shit out of it - I'm hoping I'm playing longer than 10 hours NOT to justify the games price of admission or because I'm entitled to more content, but simply because I had larger more grandiose expectations for the IP based on their initial presentations and press junkets. Like anything in life, its all about managing expectations and that is on the developer to convey in a general sense what we as consumers can reasonably expect. I don't even know if the leaked information is close to accurate (I hope it isn't obviously) - but lets say its 100% accurate - can you guys honestly say it meets your expectations or that it is enough? Sure it's not pissing your money as a consumer away - $60 is a reasonable barrier to entry for 10+ hours of entertainment - I'm just saying that given the expectation some of us had for the IP, it seems purposefully short (inc DLC's!). Time will tell which side is right, and I think Bungie engendered a decent amount of good will with the Beta (the general interweb consensus was really positive) - I just can't help but find it odd that they are so tight lipped regarding certain (pretty major) game elements.
Carry on!
