I may go back on medicaid which the first time it was because to get ACA insurance I had to give them my income info and they put me on medicaid due to no income at the time which was fine I had money.

But now I am paying right at $2k a month for insurance with a crazy high deductible that I haven't even reached this year until this last hospital stay. Most of my visits are blood work at most.

I did pay $3k for a CT scan which I am in the process of threatening to get it and/or the report for it at least since I got nothing at all, but a bill. I've been doing some research and for almost all my shit medicaid would just cover it. Blue Cross apparently doesn't cover Dexcom continuous glucose meters much at all anymore. Medicaid does at least in this state. Without insurance for a month of sensors is $425. No thanks. My niece works at that hospital in the imaging department and she said they send almost all of it off to someone else under contract for them to generate a report on it. I had multiple MRIs of head, neck, spine with and without contrast that I know for a fact the Dr. that ordered didn't look at it or even read the report. I did not know until I went to the hospital to pick up a copy of the MRI and the radiologist mentioned sometime soon you will need back surgery and by the way you have a bad infection that shows up on the MRI, said he called the Dr. and left a message. Was news to me some months later after I lost hearing in one ear due to an infection. Oh you can't sue in most of the south for malpractice if it's been more than X months which is a very short time while you are trying to get something actually done medically.

That's only part of my rant on how the ACA is thinly guised program to get a shitload of people onto medicaid. I've mentioned it before but retty sure the state has 50 to 100 people trying to get people onto medicaid for every person that can give you info on what is required not to qualify for medicaid. I went through it before. Since I pay myself I asked and nobody knew, or wanted to say, and asking about getting off medicaid was a foreign question to most of them. It was like you won the lottery why would you not want it?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record ill repeat what i said earlier, no idea if it will help but at this point its at least worth trying, maybe you tried it already and i just didnt see the post. Do a search on Mikhaila Peterson and/or lion or carnavore diet to see all the crazy sit it has helped ppl that had serious issues physical and even mental health issues with. Most ppl wont believe diet can be the cause of so many issues. But its not just a couple wackos claiming it helps there many ppl it has helped. Mikhaila and her father Jordan have been on carnivore for like 5+ years and basically all of thier medical issues are either cured or in remission, and they arent the only ones. Its recommended to do at least 30 - 90 days on the diet to start seeing improvements, and sometimes less time and more drastic improvements occur on carnivore/lion diet. If nothing else just research it before deciding.

You should try lion diet or carnivore see if things improve, seems to have good effect for things no one is able to find a cause for. Or even an extended fast. If things improve its probably toxins/allergys to something in food/environment. just a thought, seen youve had issues for a long time in your posts that no one is able to figure out the cause of.
Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. That's literally the foundation of medecine.

last month went to doc for leg and foot cramps, they put me on 400mg magnesium and 6 oz of tonic water nightly. my magnesium was 1.9 with 2.0 being normal. the tonic water really isn't proven to do anything, but (knock on wood) not had any cramps in a month, so sticking with it for now.

while there told the doc about tingling on the bottom of my left foot, like from arch forward to toes. thought it was from where i have been walking a lot. they thought it was my back and sent me for xray, which showed Mild degenerative disc disease in the L5-S1. that lead to MRI yesterday

"Enroaches" is typical radiologist waffling. They aren't willing to come out and say that the disc is impinging/pressing on the nerve, but they are saying that it's close enough that if you move a certain way, it might "tickle" the nerve a bit (which could conceivably be causing the tingling). They might try some PT and/or a neuro pain med like gabapentin or Lyrica. If that doesn't work, epidural steroid injection. If that fails, possibly partial discectomy, though unless a surgeon is kind of a cowboy, I don't see them wanting to operate without some pretty extensive conservative treatment first.

I’ve had a scratchy throat the last two days.. Worried it’s the onset of a cold on Thanksgiving week. Don’t think it’s bat flu. Is there anything preemptive I can do to help stave this off? Preemptively stay in bed and rest ? Any supplements I can take? Cc: Dr. Gurgeh Gurgeh

Eating mobilize a lot of your immune system, historicaly, and still in most of the world, most of pathogen would get in through food.

Fast 24 hours so your immune system can focus on the current fight. Add zinc and quercetin.

Chewing licorice will help killing the virus in the throat. Or even chewing anything. But licorice increase saliva production.

Drink a fifth of vodka right before bed and put on sweatpants and two sweaters. You'll sweat it all out.

It’s surprisingly efficient. I had a sore throat from a LPR, that lasted nearly 3 years. PPI didn’t work, gaviscon was doing something, but not quite enough. Licorice just wtfowned it in 3 months. In fact, the disconfort from LPR was gone within minutes of chewing licorice, and after chewing licorice root 3 times a day for 3 months, I stopped and it was gone, never came back.

Now I'm a bit sick of the taste, borderline pucking when chewing it, so I only use it as a last resort.

I think it’s one of the most used herb in chinese medicine. You HAVE to chew the roots though, plenty of studies showing that eating the powder doesn’t work unfortunately. For me, roots was miraculous, chewable DGL far less efficient, but still better than anything else. Licorice in capsule, useless.

PS: carefull with dental fîllings and chewing the root... I broke one that way.

Ohhh I thought you were talking about licorice candy. Didn’t realize the actual root. Hmm that may be harder to find on short notice

1-2 cloves of garlic daily (not bulbs, just individual cloves) to stimulate NK cell activity, though if you're feeling symptomatic, your innate immune system is already probably getting overwhelmed, and it's going to need to fall back on adaptive. Might shorten the duration a bit, however.

I think the candy might work if they’re made with actual licorice. Just chew them like a chewing gum.

Something like this?

Natural Soft Black Licorice 200g | Panda™ Licorice

Also found some liquid licorice root at a local grocer. If this shit works, I will be forever grateful. LPR has been eating my lunch for years :emoji_cry:
I don’t believe liquid will do anything.
Candy mighr work, I don’t know. With LPR, just get the actual root imo. At least for the first few weeks, then move onto the DGL chewable if you don’t want to use that for a prolonged period of time.

Natural Farms Natural Licorice Root Sticks- 1 Pound- 100% Pure Natural Root Sticks Amazon.com

Chew about 5g 3 times for 15mn a day before or just after meals.

did you have any injections?
nurse called the next day, saying doc wrote 2 referrals, one for consult for injections and one for surgery. told her would pass on the surgery talk for now. i looked at the referral, it is just for new patient. think they just like to stress me out.
