And they probably wear a fedora.

And they probably are working on a short story / screenplay that blows this one AWAY. But they've been working on it for the past 10 years. It just isn't ready yet.

I am thinking about cleaning house of all my friends that saw this movie and felt, "oh yeah, it was kinda cool..." or gave a shrug, "pretty good". I want to rage on them, beat them into submission, and make them acknowledge it was the greatest movie of all time. I bet Kanye loves this movie and isn't afraid to grab a mic and tell the world. Greatest of all time means it is better than anything before and anything to come after. That is the only correct way to describe this movie. Period.

As an action movie, maybe best ever, but as far as plot wise? meh it was okay. Personally, I was expecting more when it was 90+ on rottentomatoes.

I was in a hardware store today, in the paint section . . . my eyes snapped over to the chrome spray paints. With out thought, in seconds, I held it in my hands, so shiny so chrome.

I had to fight the urge to do it.

Witness me!!

A movie that good doesn't need a plot!

It has one though. Furiosa smuggles the harem out of the citadel. She then turns left, and Immortal Joe figures out his wimmen are gone, so he gathers the army and goes to get them back. Furiosa manages to evade them. Second half. But then they get to the safe harbor they were trying to reach and come to find that it's been obliterated years ago. Such is post-apoc life. Out here everything hurts. They briefly consider wandering in the desert like Moses searching for the promised land when Max does the only consequential thing he does in the story and convinces them, "Fuck that." So they turn back around, kill immortal joe, and return to the citadel (minus a few concubines) as conquering heroes.

It's very direct. But that's exactly what makes it resonate. The radiation has bled all subtlety out of that world. It's cheyne-stokes for the entire world. Anything more complicated than that would have made the movie worse, I'm 95% sure.

Like try to imagine some love interest sub-plot between Max and one of the women. Ugh. That would have just ruined it completely.

Yeah I Am So Happy They Didn't Try To Force Some Dumb love story like every other shit action movie. Other consequential thing he did is whatever badassery went on when he went out into the night by himself.

So it's been 33 years since the apocalypse? Or since the founding of the citadel? Either way, Tom Hardy doesn't look that old so it looks like maybe they made that when they still thought they'd get Mel Gibson? Pretty cool.

All the radiation gave Max Super life-span powers. Along with his invisibility powers, the ability to fly, and the inability to stop seeing ghosts. They gotta leave something for the next one!

I dont have the film handy but is that "Day 12045" in the movie? Pretty cool trivia if so. I don't think it's his age, either, prolly how they denote the date.

The fall of civilization was also pretty gradual in the universe, also. Not an overnight nuke fest, plus Australia was one of the last civilized areas to fall apart.

33 years since society collapsed / war. Well the cars in the film were all older cars, late 70's . . . but as a side note I think some of the guns were more modern.

So if it's 33 years, this would mean that they (the film-makers) ditched the idea that Max was an adult before the war. The Mel Gibson Mad Max had turned 'mad' well before the war, but different actor, lets re-set the scenario, re-imagine the character. It works, so I'm not complaining.

The director has stated that he isn't concerned with maintaining a consistent timeline, they are all just self-contained stories.
