Alimony is bullshit. Short of you sitting down with your partner and saying hey you forgo a career to raise kids, it shouldnt be handed out period. Divorce laws and the handing out of assets are one of the most fucked up things in modern law.

No its not. You have to look at it from the one receiving it point of view. Some women give up entire careers or dont even have any in the first place to have families and take care of the husband and house. So once divorced WTF are they supposed to do? Go work at McDonalds with 2 kids in daycare? Child support alone is not going to cut it. Getting a grand a month form the husband is not gonna pay all the bills.

I even look at my wife which has some experience at being a dental assistant, which is like a $15-$17 a hour job around here. Not even close to being enough to live on.

I know the shit sucks bit its there for a reason. But believe me there are scumbags on both sides of the divorce.

I'm sure it does help, but listening to all that bullshit must make you have to become desensitized to emotional stuff like I assume a doctor would. Just thinking about it makes me want to go into a coma.

I think being a PI lawyer would be so much worse. I have several family members that are PI lawyers and the things they justify are just absurd. Dealing with that many scumbags and that much deceit has to have an effect on how you see every day life.

And now that I read what I write, it actually sounds pretty much the same as a divorce lawyer!

Well, my dad didn't have to become a Cops episode. A last minute loan from my grandparents kept him out of jail. Doesn't do anything to dig him out of the mountain of debt he has accrued, but they're a lot less likely to pursue it. I just want to make sure they have a written loan agreement.

So it goes.

Yeah, work on McDonald and let the husband keep the fucking kids. If you can't provide, then you don't get to keep kids. Fucking simple as that. Ex-wife is not ex-husband's problem. What you are asking is living standard adjustment to the way she used to live before divorce. Fuck that shit. That's pure resource extraction.

Split the fucking property and live on that until you get a better job/degree. You are not his/her problem if you are not longer his/her marriage partner.

Who the fuck is gonna watch the kids while she works? Or better yet who is going to pay for the day care? Your ex wife and kids live in squalor down in the ghetto while you cash big checks and live like king george? Is that how it should play out?
