Except having to wake up early to go back to your place to shower and get dressed for work the next morning.

Women are really fuckin' weird sometimes. About a year and a half ago I had gone out a few times with a nurse (pertinent for obvious reasons). We're back at my apartment and we start getting into it when I pick her up and start taking her to the bedroom. Right in front of it she says, "No let's not go into the bedroom, I feel like that's really slutty". So I'm thinkin OK she just wants to make out, but nothing more is gonna happen. So we go back into the living room which has a huge bay window and translucent, see through curtains in broad daylight and she takes off my pants and we bang it out for any neighbors to see everything.

TL;DR Dumb broad said that the bedroom, the most private room in every house ever to have sex in, was too slutty for her so instead she wanted to fuck on my couch in front of a huge window in the middle of the day.
doesn't matter had sex

When the "Moment of Action" is imminent they almost always come up with some feeble half-hearted attempt to shut things down, if only so they don't look/feel like a slut. "I usually don't move this fast", " I really shouldn't", "I've never done this before", " I'm not sure", "it's only the 2nd date", etc. Don't fall for it, because 90% of the time they will happily accept the most feeble of counter-arguments. When I was younger I'd immediately back off when something like this was mentioned, with the result being either finding them naked 10 minutes later on my couch after returning from the washroom, or to receive a txt the next day saying "I really wanted you last night". They just want to save face and not look like the one that was hungry for sex. If you don't understand their motives, it can totally come off as bi-polar.

Meh, I can sympathize. When you're in your twenties and typically don't have a job that requires a lot of responsibility, and all you can think about is getting laid 24/7, a "next day" of having to deal with the stress and added time of going back home in the AM isn't the end of the world. Same with felling like roadkill the next day at work because you were up at 2am drinking wine and eating pussy. Once you get older the insecurity of not "seizing the moment" diminishes while your concern for not feeling like shit the next day increases. You realize that if you could bang her today, you'll be able to bang her in a few days, and if not, no biggie.. Not sure if this is a positive or negative of getting older though lol..

For a "chance" for something to happen and just staying in someone else's (probably) shit bed with nothing but cuddling? Yea, I'm gonna go home and get a good night's sleep and not have to worry about it. As Wombat said... I'm too old for that shit.

Luckily my work has a gym so I always kept clean clothes in my locker in case I stayed over at someone's house

She wasn't that into you dude. If she was the kiss would have happened. Why she wasn't into you or if you could do something different, we don't have enough insight to say. But there's really nothing more complicated to it. If she was attracted you'd have gotten the kiss at least.
Can relate to this for sure. Last girl I was seeing would be real on and off like this and ultimately it's why it ended. Great one date, weird the next. When it got to the point where things got physical, a dinner with a few drinks would have her inviting me back to her place or accepting coming to mine, only for the very end of the night to end abruptly. In these situations I figured she was just sobering up and realizing she didn't want to be there.

It all came to a head one night where i got frustrated and left at like 4 in the morning and she came clean the next day (via text, yay!) that she just wasn't that interested and was having troubles being honest about it as we did have a ton in common. Truth is she just wasn't super attracted to me (explained in more vague terms on her part like 'chemistry' and 'connection' but that's what it was) and while that's a bummer thing to hear, I've pulled the same move myself before so couldn't be too upset.

Ultimately I walked away from all that not sad or regretful but just confused much like Hek. She and I hadn't been seeing each other long enough for me to walk away all that upset, but it was just kind of puzzling how back and forth her actions would be in such short time periods.

My wife just had a door-to-door energy salesman come to our door (while I'm at work). He sold her on fixed-rate electricity through our provider. We have 3 days to cancel.

Looking into it, their rates are way higher than what we already pay.

I think I'm getting a divorce over this. What the fuck.

Is she the na?ve, gullible, "injured bird" type?

Usually not, and usually she won't even answer the door for people like that. I honestly have no idea what the fuck she was thinking! My only guess is she was outside and felt pressured to go through with it.

I can just imagine the headache over cancelling this now. How many times will I need to say "yes"

My wife one time agreed to a meeting request for both of us to attend a demonstration of some super duper water softener in our house at fucking 8pm. I go into this thinking WTF but, okay, 30 minutes tops. At just past the two hour mark, I kicked this half-toothed hillbilly sheister out as he started going through a photo album of all of the happy families he had installed water softeners for. You should have seen the rejection in his dim-witted eyes.

Could have choked her out right there on the kitchen table.

hahaha, man that is rough.

The best part of this story is the power plant is less than 2 miles from our house. That means electricity is cheap!

Quick Google-Fu tells me that there are a ton of these door-to-door energy sales scams out there. Be careful and write down everything when you contact whoever it is you need to contact.

Wut? In one sentence it sounds like you're still using the same energy company just changing from "pay as you use" to fixed rates over the year so your summer bill isn't 3x higher than your winter bill or vice versa depending on where you live; and then the next sentence you say their rates are much higher, as if it is a different company.

This company is at least listed on National Grid's website as a preferred energy dealer or whatever, but my first google brought up a bunch of scams as well.
