What specific driver problem? I have not had any and I've had my 7900XTX since February. I got so tired of Nvidia problems I always did a 'clean' install every driver update.
FYI I don't mess with either brands 'experience' garbage , I know how to configure a game.

Also I had to turn off DOCP because it doesn't play nice with AMD video cards.

Well people keep paying these retarded prices, so it will continue
If we keep paying are the prices the thing that are retarded?

Cant wait to get mine.

There will no be no high end RDNA 4 cards and they are skipping RDNA 5. Instead they are focusing on UDNA architectures which the Playstation 6 is already rumored to have in the design specs.
They are NOT "skipping" RDNA 5 but rather unifying all graphics card development, previously split into CDNA (Compute DNA with emphasis on TFLOPS) and RDNA (Radeon DNA, with focus on low latency/shaders/gaming) under the UDNA (Unified DNA) which mimics NVidia's development strategy. AMD is trying to get in on some of that sweet, sweet AI money that has made NVidia stupid rich. AMD has done this Mid-range and below only approach previously, where they only released a mid-ranged card 5700XT IIRC? Next Gen post-RDNA 4 is still expected Q2 2026, when they are expected to compete at the high end again. Whether that happens is actually up in the air.

I have had my 7900XTX since summer of 2023 and AMD drivers have been fine/good. I don't stress too much over features, which NVidia seems to have an advantage in but since I haven't upgraded my monitors in a few years, I still have 43" 4K/60hz monitors; I don't need DLSS/FSR for any game.

I would rather buy AMD just on principle because while NVidia was great for a while, a number of things have made them as monopolistic and greedy as Intel ever was or worse.

New build this year. I'm that retard that buys one.
Despite my previous post, I was thinking that I would build a 9xxxX3D/high end video card PC (I was thinking a 5080) in the spring because why not? If AMD can't even be assed to make a new real chipset and NVidia are going to Joker laugh all the way to the bank with Titan pricing for a -80 class card, I may not. I could just move my existing video card over for a new build if I really wanted (my fan set up in this PC is too loud for my tastes) or just not upgrade my 7700x/7900XTX at all. and see what comes out in 2026.

This time the (The Third Pricing Crisis?) Video card pricing issue is coming from NVidia and AMD themselves.

Well I had to google DOCP because I've never heard of it. Google thinks it's a memory timing thing? If so you have PC problems Hekotat Hekotat , I am running XMP profiles on my mobo without any issue. 2 4k 144hz monitors no issues. Whomever said adrenaline was garbage , is that the AMD tuner ? I don't use that crap , didn't with NVIDIA either and I sure had to roll back way more than 1 of their drivers.

In the hardware/driver/staying on it front Nvidia wins by a mile. I was just posting that the AMD cards are not loser geek cards. Or hell maybe they are. Either way I'm looking forward to CES to see what both teams reveal. Damn shame my contact for free passes doesn't work for Apple anymore.

I'll likely pull the trigger as well, but that's just because my 3080 doesn't pair well with my 4K/144 hz monitor I have now on modern titles, to say nothing of even higher frame rare monitors that are increasingly available.

But as I keep trying to point out to my college student nephew, unless you have excess disposable funds (or are super tied to the handful of genres still only available on PC), the performance / dollar relative to consoles keeps dropping with every videocard generation.

Speaking of performance / dollar, AMD apparently admitted their new video cards exist... and provided no info beyond that, apparently until they can see what Nividia is doing / pricing.

Man, Nvidia's going to have us over a barrel for a decade.

Jensen says the RTX 5070 is performance equivalent to a 4090

all nvidia gives a shit about anymore is AI and it all sounds so fake and gay too. of course they are worth now like $4 trillion and jensen himself is worth more than Intel so i guess its working great

FE looks like 2 slot, and the PCI pcb is separate from the chip pcb to finally stop being the crack weak spot? $2K for the 90 series is bad, but it's not some of the leaks bad. But we all know nVidia fucks over its board partners and they'll all be releasing cards $2.1K and up, probably averaging at $2,300.

The 5070 looks like it'll be an insanely good deal, actually.

The 5080 looks like the joke of the bunch now, but I could be down for a 5070 ti or wait for an inevitably 5080 ti.

$549 is manageable and reasonable. The thing is if they will actually be available at that price? Or will this be a repeat of 2020. And where is the coveted 5060 and 5060ti? If the5070 is as good as the 4090 then the 5060 might be worth.

That 5070 price looks great if the performance he mentioned is there. Will see. I assume the comparison he gave was with things like frame generaton.

I'll wait for 3rd party reviews and comparisons.

Brand partner pricing will be higher, scalpers will be out in full force, and their claims of performance will have massive *`s attached.

These prices seem unnecessarily reasonable. Could it be that Nvidia is trying to avoid government action?

Brand partner pricing will be higher, scalpers will be out in full force, and their claims of performance will have massive *`s attached.

They will but without some ulterior motive for buying/shortage, like mining or COVID that eats all supply for years, I don't think there is going to be a long lasting 2018 or 2020 style shortage. AI Datacenter usage which is probably going to use the higher end non-gaming cards.

There may be some of this at first but long term, more than a single quarter? I don't THINK so. Was there a shortage of 4080/4080 supers? I think this should be the same but really its hard to say what black swan events could change the landscape.
