Well, I need a higher end GPU for my sim rig, so I'm just buying a 5080 or 5090 depending on the performance reviews. Kinda hard to keep holding off another 6 months after I've already held off 7 months.

I've been watching a lot of videos, reading a lot, and just pieced it together.

Obviously, my observation, isn't fact. We don't have the benchmarks, but based on the information Nvidia released yesterday, we're likely looking at a 20%-35% generational improvement. I'd be genuinely surprised if reality falls outside that range, but I do think it will be closer to the 35% than not.

The biggest issue for me is the VRAM. Even the 5070 should have 16 and everything after should be at least 20. A lot of people don't realize that some games (at 1440p/4k) are exceeding their VRAM, right now. The 3080 8 was an embarrassment held down by its pitiful VRAM.

Needs to max out my 2x 32" Odyssey Neo G8 4K UHD 240Hz monitors.

Most likely yes. It has always been easier to buy them in pre-builds than buying them stand-alone.

Like Hateyou said, it will probably be easier to get it as a pre-built rather than stand alone if there are any issues at all with supply. I don't think the 4 series had anywhere near the issues as the 3 series did. Guessing the 5 series won't really be an issue either.

I've bought two high end prebuilts from cyberpowerpc with no issues for the same cost as buying the parts myself and had no issues getting the best cards at the time.

But you won't have Neural Linguistic Double AI Ray Path Processing, giving you 200,000+* Double Ray AI frames per frame. Only NVidia 5000 cards give you DRAFPF.

The 4090 being so next-gen for the 4 series was a huge boon. People at the time criticized NVidia for making the 4090 next-gen, saying it'd make the next-gen difficult to sell.

It's exactly because of that reason the CEO had to lie on stage to the world regarding the new 5 series cards.

NVidia shot themselves in the foot with the 4090.
