It seems like the really terrible showing of the 5080 is also drying up the supply of 7900XTXs; they have almost all disappeared as well and are now selling in some places for close to 4080 prices.

If only Intel didn't seem intent to destroying every division of their entire company. They should be an "Ozymandias" style lesson about how great companies can fall.

Yeah my plan is to go AMD for my build this summer. Prices of everything went up, even my main hobby of guitar has seen new guitars gaining +$1000 MSRP since the pandemic, but I cannot understand Nvidia pricing. I do think there is some form of mental illness with people upgrading 4090s to 5090s

I've thought about going AMD video for my build, but I just don't want problems. And I've read about a lot of problems with AMD drivers and the 7900xtx. Not at current prices though, everything is ridiculous. The 7900xtx is going for as much as a MSRP 5080.

I did switch from Intel to AMD this time for CPU, from a 10700k to a 9800x3d. The build is complete and fired up the first try. Now all I need is a video card.

Question for those that got a prebuilt? Did you use the computer or take the GPU out and sell off the computer or whatever?
I use the computer and gave my kids my older PC. It’s good enough for what they play on it like Roblox. When I got it my prebuilt I maxed out everything on it. It was last me a very long time.

People are easily brainwashed (and/or retarded)

This, but also a lot of us are older and make a ton of money, or at least are really comfy. Then we start to bargain with ourselves, saying that we make X$ an hour, and rather than spend 5 hours digging for a video card, we'll pay someone else to wait in line. I'm not there yet, and I have a large game backlog to get through before 'needing' an upgrade, so I'll wait until they unfuck the manufacturing.

Most third world countries its normal for electronics to be close to double what they cost in the US. Those countries love their tariffs.

Hell it makes me feel better about my 3080 Ti purchase.

i felt dumb for getting a 3090 in Feb 2021, *HOWEVER* i got it at retail, $1500 + tax. still running strong 4 years later and plays everything just fine at 1440, still haven't taken the 4K gaming plunge yet.

People like a friend of mine buy this stuff at this price. He's not a gamer but to him any quality is the price alone. He never researches and instead he always "just buy the most expensive thing I've heard of" it must be quality. I don't understand it but I'm sure there are others like him.
