Some of the posts in this thread made me go find th is post from the reddit the other day. It's pretty interesting imo, it's basically a people playing characters they are good at are more likely to win than people playing characters because it's the right character to play
I used statistical analysis on my Overwatch Competitive matches and found that the team with the higher win percentage won over 90% of the time. • /r/Overwatch
It makes sense. This happens in games like DOTA as well: People "know" the meta and assume if you don't pick the meta, you will lose. I would rather have a player who is a genji master playing that instead of them needing to switch to a mcree or 76 because "that is what is needed". All that matters is they get the job done on the character they are good with.
