To be fair about 2/2/2, it's a pick because it's safe. Even in hots, league, or really anything with a composition. There are safe picks based of mechanic synergies, then there are picks that are considerable wild cards.
3t/1d/2s was a thing because of the strength of mechanics and their answers. It's been getting toned back pretty hard in the last few patches. Not undoable, just dps have got the edge now.
Maybe it's the start of the season, but a handful of my game has been 3 dps, 1 tank, 2heal, or 3 dps, 2 tank, 1 heal. Which is a lot of thanks to Mercy. I think it's in response to bastion, but being a tank comp and a bastion throws in a wrench to the composition, it's better to bring the pain then to try to stall now. It's a flexible meta, and as we've seen, they're bringing in heroes for elements missing.. So it's fluid, but only 23 champions versus the 60 something and counting of hots.
As far as road, I'm 10/10 killing genjis so far. I really enjoy the road changes, it just feels so satisfying seeing that distance between your opponent and yourself. I know aesthetics wasn't really their intentions but counter play.
As far as the Ana, definitely needed. She didn't have the element of carry that was essentially genji ult, but she was damn close. Like above, she had everything in one kit. I mean I was countering widows Hanzo 76s and pharah in duels. I was stopping ults, ontop of healing gangs of people, prob the only thing that stopped her from being a dps is body blocking.
