Its already like pulling teeth to get people to play healers, this is going to make it worse.

Thats my biggest issue. Ana was just so fun to play I didn't mind playing healer. Now she's just a heal bot who dies immediately to flank.

Ana is my least favorite healer to play weirdly. I think I'd like Mercy a lot if she had another ability to push occasionally. I hate Lucio. Zen is my go-to.

Not that it matters much since I barely play lately, and when I do I play QP/Arcade so I can just play what I want to. Don't really care enough about the game to play characters I don't want to play with my time budget :p

Hog has been feeling kinda neutered to me since his hook changes. Maybe it's me, but literally 80% of my victims survive now unless they were missing some health already.

Really? I thought Hog feels even better in Hook 3.0 era. His alt fire is insane now.

While I wouldn't rule out the fact that i'm just terrible or unlucky or what have you, I have yet to kill a full health tracer after a hook.

Hog feels that way when Sym shields are up.. and there is a certain timing/feel for the hook combo. You can definitely be doing it the wrong way.

Nah, not even talking about Symm shields. I'm struggling to kill literally every character, must be an aim issue because I don't see anyone else complaining.

8 wins 1 draw and 1 loss for my placements. Was put at 2640 and immediately lost the next 5 I played lol.

The barrier game is getting old but zarya or zen are sure great for solo queue.

What I wish they'd try and achieve with Overwatch is make it somewhat like the Heroes of the Storm meta. In HotS it is pretty much 1 primary tank, 1 primary support, 3 "dps". I put dps in quotes because generally you want a specialist in there for fast lane clear but they still function in a team fight like a dps. You can also do 2 offtank instead of 1 primary tank. But what I'm getting at is that OW has like double the number of DPS characters (since all offense are DPS and most defense are DPS-like ... at least fraggers) but since the meta is being forced as 222 the selection of tanks you can play is shallow and the selection of supports is shallow leading to very stale games if you main one of those roles. If it moved more towards 141 you'd be able to have a higher chance of running a DPS hero instead of begrudgingly being forced into a role you don't necessarily want to run.

I don't think they should try and force a meta at all, but they do need to continue adjusting characters to make it more dynamic. Tanks recently just had no real weakness and we good at exploited the weaknesses of regular DPS. Each DPS itself has pretty constrained use cases on the pro level (which is generally where people in pubs get their own ideas, as pointless as it may be out our skill), whereas tanks are just generally good and have powerful ults and tools. Combine this with Ana being crazy good for a long time, especially on fat targets, and you get the tank-heavy meta. Keep in mind also Roadhog isn't exactly a tank and is more of a dps playstyle even.

In pub games you see 2-2-2 sometimes but a lot of 3-2-1 or 4-1-1 even, and it really all amounts to the same thing: a pub game.

To be fair about 2/2/2, it's a pick because it's safe. Even in hots, league, or really anything with a composition. There are safe picks based of mechanic synergies, then there are picks that are considerable wild cards.

3t/1d/2s was a thing because of the strength of mechanics and their answers. It's been getting toned back pretty hard in the last few patches. Not undoable, just dps have got the edge now.

Maybe it's the start of the season, but a handful of my game has been 3 dps, 1 tank, 2heal, or 3 dps, 2 tank, 1 heal. Which is a lot of thanks to Mercy. I think it's in response to bastion, but being a tank comp and a bastion throws in a wrench to the composition, it's better to bring the pain then to try to stall now. It's a flexible meta, and as we've seen, they're bringing in heroes for elements missing.. So it's fluid, but only 23 champions versus the 60 something and counting of hots.

As far as road, I'm 10/10 killing genjis so far. I really enjoy the road changes, it just feels so satisfying seeing that distance between your opponent and yourself. I know aesthetics wasn't really their intentions but counter play.

As far as the Ana, definitely needed. She didn't have the element of carry that was essentially genji ult, but she was damn close. Like above, she had everything in one kit. I mean I was countering widows Hanzo 76s and pharah in duels. I was stopping ults, ontop of healing gangs of people, prob the only thing that stopped her from being a dps is body blocking.

Ana grenade changed reverted along with the zen discord through shields. Ana rifle nerf still there, which I don't understand because that really wasn't her problem.

Good I was nervous if they went live with Ana's nade nerf she'd be completely unusable with no way to escape and no way to self heal. I feel just making it so she has to 4 tap 200 HP heroes will be a pretty significant nerf to her usability.

Also got Diamond yesterday :)

After evaluating how I actually play Ana I'm not sure if I'll stop maining her if the non-nerfed nade goes through. The vast, vast majority of the time I'm just healbotting my tanks while throwing some non-scoped shots near their team fishing for damage and anti-healing their tanks. Sure it'll suck I can no longer be the hard counter to Pharah but if Zen is on the rise he'll just Discord the Pharah and things will be back to normal. It'll also make countering Genji/Tracer more difficult but right now it is a bit stupid how well I deal with my supposed counters.

I only had 2 games affected by leavers during my placements. A big improvement over last year.

Lost 6 in one big streak with lots of classic teams. The torb that won't switch, the widow that won't switch and can't get a single kill, little kids arguing about snapchat the entire match, and the ultra loud static mic guy.
