Ever heard of safe sex?
My last HIV test was a year ago when I had my last physical, still HIV- thank you. Living in SF during the late 80's safe sex was drilled into you. I also had to many friends die of AIDS back then as well. Sadly the whole safe sex thing has mostly been left at the door with your generation. I've known a few people who have become HIV+ in the last few years and that's something that in this day and age, should never happen via sex.
That's a lot of money for 20 minutes of not-work, back in 1985 dollars.
Honestly I don't know how good being a Hustler would be today though. Back in the 70's and 80's (85 is when I was a hustler), coming out was a HUGE issue. There were many more guys who were in the closet than there are now. Oh I'm sure there are still a good number of guys in the closet, especially in rural areas but still not as many as when I first came out. It's much more accepted today and I'm still amazed that many young adults have 0 hangups with it. There were probably many more guys looking for hustlers because they were closeted. Plus then there are things like Craig's List and the internet in general making quick anonymous hook ups so much easier than when I was 19.
I'm almost 40 and I don't have any hangups about gay dudes, I'm just a little grossed out by all the anal shit... err... stuff. To be fair I'm kinda grossed out by anal with women just the same. The eating of asses and such Kuriin describes is goddamn nasty, male or female.
Bottom or top gets overblown imo, its a preference not a sex like male female nothing prevents them switching it up. Most guys I know consider themselves versatile for hookups until they get into a long term relationship which tends to fall into roles more. If they are pure bottoms tho refer to kuriin's answer lol
