Yes Phazael, mistakes happen. Just because you have drones in the sky, doesn't mean you somehow have perfect missiles or perfect people operating them.

Did the rebels in Ukraine intentionally shoot down M17 knowing it was a civilian plane?
Did the US intentionally shoot down IR655, knowing it was filled with civilians?
Did the US intentionally bomb the chinese embassy in Belgrade?

I mean, I feel like it shouldn't be necessary to explain that mistakes happen, but it seems you are confused on the subject.
Wait, so all 1500 dead civilians were mistakes?

Are you fucking retarded? Nobody is talking about the initial theft of land to create Israel. We're talking about the fact that Israel continually steals more and more land from the Palestinians.
Not sure why you are so upset. My point has been the "land" has switched hands quite a lot over the centuries. People upset that Israel is stealing land, but the land was stolen from someone previously. It's a never ending line of current "occupiers" with no one being Innocent. Yes they are moving and claiming more and more, which is wrong(or some would say right, given the current state of conflict in the area) but the Palestinians took that land from someone else. They are just on the bad end of the deal this time and are rightfully upset about it(as were any previous occupiers when they lose or have to leave). It's a shitty reality and no one can claim "we were here first".

Wait, so all 1500 dead civilians were mistakes?
Were they? No one will ever know and both sides will put their PR spin on it, with the media doing what they do best.

So it wouldn't be an act of war if we just appropriated some more land from Mexico?

Do mistakes happen when you've been covering the exact same tiny area (gaza strip is the size of brooklyn) with drones an satellites for years on end?

The comparison to MH17 or IR655 is ludicrous. Those were objects moving 600 mph at 30,000 ft. Unless Gazans built a flying hospital, this comparison is ludicrous.

The comparison to Chinese embassy is also ludicrous, that happened 15 years ago. Drone and sat tech has come a long way since.

I am not confused on the subject. You don't rack up a 1K + civilian count in a weeks time if you are actively trying to avoid doing so, especially with drones to confirm targets up to the moment of launch authorization. One off incidents can be chalked up to mechanical failure, ignorance, and unforeseen factors. What we are seeing here is a pattern. So either IDF are completely incompetent or they are doing this willingly. I would be very interested in hearing Wombat's talking points on that one.

Of course it would. But we also haven't been in a on and off again war/fight with them for the past who knows how long. Nor is mexico wanting to wipe us out or take our land :p

You seem to not get what I am saying. Let me give you analogy. It would be like Mexico taking land from us and then us crying they stole "our land" when in reality we stole that shit from someone previously, we just got fucked this time. In a nutshell the world is full of hypocrites, it's just a matter of who is the loser and who is the victor this time and its much worse these days with internet/media coverage like it is.

What would be your idea to either thwart or remove civilian structures from being munitions storage or firing bases? Not ignoring Civilian deaths, which is horrible, but curious how you would go about the situation, in a military way(obviously a peaceful way is preferred, but lets be real that's not going to happen). I know people were talking about "knocking" or what not, to give warning but that also warns the bad guys.

Didn't we(the US) have a bunch of incidents in Afghanistan and Iraq? Even with all our surveillance capabilities.

I think a lot of it comes from bad intelligence moreso then mechanical/weapon malfunctions. Maybe a very small % due to soldier incompetence.

Do you think the US was intentionally targetting civilians in the Iraq war? That really must be the only explanation also for all the civilian casualties in that conflict.

LOL, is this even a real question? There's many reports of US targeting civilians and even video out there.

Note I said the US, not isolated soldiers.

Let me be clear for you, since you are trying to misrepresent the obvious, do you think the US as a policy was intentionally targeting civilians?

Did the US intentionally bomb the chinese embassy in Belgrade?
actually I believe there was possibly a reasonable reason to intentionally do that. The only american stealth plane ever shot down was during that war and the chinese were collecting pieces of it.

Actually for the amount of ordinance we put in the air in Iraq, civilian casualties were amazingly low. Most happened in the clean up after "Mission Accomplished", actually.

And the Mexico thing is a shitty analogy, as I am sure a lot of the indigenous populations of Texas and California might have a few interesting tidbits to say on that topic.

LOL, even if they didnt - their civilian casualties were waaaay lower than Israel's considering the size of population, the scope of operations and the size of the area - and their theater of operations was a lot more foggier and nebulous.

There's just no way that 1700 dead civs in 2 weeks is just accidents. Like someone said earlier. Either Israel is grossly incompetent, or this is intentional.

Pick one.

they don't even have an electrical plant now, and you keep calling gaza a paradise, which is ridiculous, i'd stop calling it that compared to places that you actually can call "paradise"

Are you really this obtuse? Of course it isn't a "paradise" NOW. As I've reiterated over and over, every time Gaza reaches a point where the population begins to thrive and the city begins to resemble something normal, Hamas turns back the clock by picking a fight with Israel, which provides them with a) more smuggling money as Israel tightens up the blockade again b) world aid which they can embezzle and c) fresh conscripts for their cause. It DOES NOT benefit Hamas to have an educated, affluent society. It doesn't benefit their charter, it doesn't benefit their pocketbooks, and it certainly doesn't help their radical Islamic beliefs. Despite their being no precedent for responsible government in the Arab middle east, nor anything resembling a decent distribution of wealth, let alone a flourishing "free" population, I love how you guys think that Israel is the cause of all Gaza's problems.

You are already occupying their soil. You sack up and do a sweep of the city for munitions. If the IDF really wanted to snuff out the tunnels, this would kill two birds with one stone. With zero electricity and martial law in place, there is not exactly a lot of ways for Hamas to move their ordinance around, especially with drones circling over head.

Edit- This would have the added bonus of letting you pop a cap in any gun carrying Palestinian, since you could rightly declare such a person an enemy combatant. This would leave infrastructure standing, though, which is not what Israel wants.

But they are getting their ordinance around. Ground troops could work, but it's so easy to get prior warning or enough time to move your shit, especially because its all mobile and/or easy to carry around. Do you really want ground troops constantly sweeping your city over and over and having to go in every building and thoroughly search it? I would think that would cause a lot more problems and causalities.
