RDJ as Tony Stark is dogshit. It's RDJ playing RDJ who's name happens to be Tony Stark in this movie.dude seriously?
That accent is awful.
And you really said that in a movie with Tom/Loki in it. nevermind RDJ as Stark.
Liked the movie though. Space battles were nice. A bit too much quick cuts in fight scenes. The first fight absolutely. couldnt see shit. The end fight... not as bad. but at the same time, whoever greenlit the portal idea should have been kicked in the balls. that is up there with "FF:spirits within" and invisible monsters as bad guys. its just a stupid concept to put to film. you are intentionally making a fight scene where the audience has no idea whats going on. why would you do that? LIke 5 minutes of Mjollnir just flying around because IT can't figure out which way to go.
Also dragged down by Natalie portman again. Need to dump her and focus on Sif.
This was one of my criticisms of the first movie, too. It's been a while since I've seen it, but if I remember correctly we didn't really see Thor fighting much "non-Asgardian-esque" stuff in that, either.I liked the portal fight because I hadn't seen much of it before.
Only thing I wish it had was more fighting in areas outside of Midgard. I only remember seeing midgard, Vanaheim, Jotunheim and hellhole the dark elves came out of.
I think the writers did a great job mitigating that kind of idiocy by having Natalie Portman's character point out how the "magic" of Asgard was nothing more than super high technology.I'm kinda surprised no one complained about elven Tie-Fighters and shit. It doesn't bother me really, but I'm sure the layman is going to be like "BUT MEDIEVAL VIKING THINGS DONT HAZ GUNSHIPS!!!"
Ah, yes. I forgot about his fight with the Hulk in The Avengers.I dunno you get a good idea of his strength when he fought the Hulk in Avengers. Sure he was losing but he didn't get squashed.
It gets better once you leave Midgard.I liked the portal fight because I hadn't seen much of it before.

I did mention that as one of the highlights, since I am apparently the only person in the universe that didn't think this movie was awesome (I did still like it, just not as much as a lot of others). If he was in the first movie, I didn't realize it. (Ah, I just checked IMDB, and he wasn't. It was fucking Charming from Once Upon A Time no less. Chuck was vastly more entertaining.)Can we give a brief mention to how awesome Chuck was in this movie? I had no clue it was him until the end credits.
Yeah the theatre I was in couldn't give a shit when Thor's mum died but everyone was upset when Loki 'died'. Meanwhile all the nerds were shaking their head and rolling their eyes at the idea that Loki would die like a bitch from a frontal attack. I'm really happy with the way they portrayed Loki in the film for all the reasons stated above, but above that it was good to see Thor and Loki working together like the yin and the yang they are. Putting Loki as the main antagonist in Thor III would probably annoy a lot of people because he's had so much screen time already, but I wouldn't mind it. I'd still prefer he plays the background support for Thor though.
I thought both movies were rubbish, the second only less so....since I am apparently the only person in the universe that didn't think this movie was awesome (I did still like it, just not as much as a lot of others).
I don't remember anyone addressing this point about the ending:
Where is Odin?
That is the cliff hanger.I don't remember anyone addressing this point about the ending:
Where is Odin?
that isn't really the writers, that's the basis behind the technology in Asgard in the comic books as well.I think the writers did a great job mitigating that kind of idiocy by having Natalie Portman's character point out how the "magic" of Asgard was nothing more than super high technology.
Think about it, if there were no lights on the ship, in space, how would the viewer see it?!Nester_sl said:Anyone else tackle the idea that the Dark Elves, who are race from before the universe was formed (WTF) who want the universe to go back to the time of darkness, HAVE BIG FUCKING LIGHTS ALL OVER THIER SPACE SHIP? So they hate light, except when they need it to see where they are flying? Maybe I missed something about their backstory but its pretty dumb.
Yeah, true, I was just referring to the fact that the movie went out of its way to show it via Natalie Portman's dialogue when she was being examined by the Asgardians. It's the sort of thing that could easily have been glossed over, so I liked how they specifically pointed it out.that isn't really the writers, that's the basis behind the technology in Asgard in the comic books as well.
I imagine it was left vague on purpose.I don't remember anyone addressing this point about the ending:
