There isn't a single MMO in the works with any sort of promise that isn't a scam except maybe Ashes. Lost Ark is nosediving hard. The recent WoW expansion seems to be good apparently but that will die out soon enough.
you phrase this like theres suppose be some sort of mass production of MMOs. The genre is very healthy.

Shroud was saying this is probably a 5 or 6 out of 10 on the PTW scale. Which is a pretty good these a days

am over thinking what class to play. so far am bow and staff for dps but I thought for practical reasons staff and wand probably makes end game pugs easier to get into as a healer. but I can hardly get past 2 weeks on anything these old days....

I just picked this up. I'm trying out Bow/Wand at the moment. Not sure if I picked a good combo or not. lol
This weapon choice is the premium healer setup. I am also trying this out as it seems healers are lacking and I like getting groups when I can. Bow/Staff is the other healer setup.

I wouldn't really call Bow/Staff a healer setup. Wand has the most powerful heal skills and the best passives for increasing healing. As a healer you probably want Bow/Wand or Wand/Staff.

People are so crazy dumb - the first "mythic" dungeon boss has the most braindead mechanics and yet.... I survive, solo, like 5 attemps just healing myself up as a tank and people still can't "stand in circle" or block. Sigh. What is the path forward at 50 for purple gearing? Seems kind of spartan?

Yeah thats one reason I ran it. I can still DPS, but the healer part will help me with grouping it seems. It got me into my guild almost instantly lol.

Dungeons at 50 are fun, definitely if you do them blind. I wouldn't ever, ever do it with pugs though. It's 100% mechanics performance based. Very Wildstar-esque in the fact that DPS doesn't matter, but one person fucks up and you're probably done.

Yeah, there are a lot of sneaky good ideas in this. It's an interesting mix of GW2, New World, BDO, and Classic WoW.

I've been having a lot of fun with it, but I think the PvP system will eventually drive people away. Even though PvP is completely unnecessary, the video game industry now is all about FOMO whiners who spend their lives in parasocial relationships on Twitch, complaining that shit "isn't fair". And just the perception that the top PvP guilds will get more loot will be enough to drive people away eventually.

With shroud's server the PvP is fucking boring as shit because his guild is aligned with 80% of the server so really its just pathetic

That's how ALL of these "mass-scale" PvP games work. It happened with GW2, Shadowbane, etc. The only game it "kinda" worked was DAoC, because of the whole 3 faction thing sort of forcing you into 3 "guilds", but even then servers became heavily dominated by either Midgard, Hibernia, or Albion depending. People just dogpile onto whatever side is "winning" until they just completely dominate the server and any PvP-based targets essentially just become PvE.

The only real "competition" is going to be in the 3v3 arenas. But even that isn't gear equalized, so who gives a shit.

But the PvE is really fucking great. The dungeons are super fun and actually challenging and when the T2 dungeons release with challenge modes, it'll get even better.

Yeah, factional pvp always ends up in massive imbalances. I don't really blame people for swapping once the tides start turning, though. Fighting 13 vs 300 is a million times less fun than rolling over the 13 as part of the 300 which is at least essentially the same as pve like Kirun said.

cant...deal with the pvp. am constantly being shredded

but that being said the pve of the game is fun and its really nice to level through and quest.

small tip. you get a blue weapon at end of chap 5, while the other blue weapon can be done through lithograph contribution

Is this a game that can be enjoyed and bypass all pvp?

I have yet to play a single mmo where the open world wasn't either 1) 90% unbalanced in one factions favor, or 2) nothing more than high lvls harassing low lvls and there is nothing you can do.
