Have not bought 40k miniatures since 4th edition, but this Dark Angels battleforce looks tempting. Is it usually easy to get these kinda things or do they sell out instantly?

I kind of want it but I'm using Ultramarines codex. Wondering if some kitbashing will make it worthwhile... but I don't really want melee units on foot.

Maybe I should buy a combat patrol instead.

If you can’t get them, I can get them from Big Tony at Games Workshop here in NOVA. He runs an official Games Workshop store as a front I think and always hooks me up. Calls me a mick too.

Most of them will sell out. I would just try and preorder when it drops and not worry too much. Most of the time you can get one if you're not late, but sometimes they don't make enough and you're not getting one anyway.

Yeah

Brikker Brikker lol yeah drunk post but he’s always been able to get me anything when it’s sold out. He seems to have some kind of weird connection.

I got a 60x40 mat to set up and a pile of terrain to do

So it begins, setting up the toxic desert battlefield on planet Nunc

Surprisingly, a lot of us are in Virginia.

I've gone as far as 3 hours to Manassas to play before. Maybe there's a GT or something out that way too.

It's a year out again but I'd do it 2025:

I recommend the table top simulator setup for playing pals remotely and getting in more reps for practice.

Then after thinking how long it takes to setup and play a normal game of 40k:

I’m down to meet up somewhere. Huzzah games in Ashburn is supposed to be the best in DMV.

I kinda wanna start a Necromunda campaign too.

Can confirm, Huzzah fucking rules. Creative Pursuit in Leesburg is a smaller place that a nice couple runs and they aren't bad either.

FWIW, I'm relocating back to Northern VA next year. The grand plan is to run a bunch of skirmish games: Primarily Warcry and Kill Team but I like the look of new Underworlds and Necromunda sure is tempting.

I haven’t done kill teams, but I’m interested in that.
One reason why I like Necromunda is it works out so great to start a year plus campaign to see where your characters end up. So fucking funny to have a guy lose a limb or an eye and roll at the end of the game to see what ailments they get.

If one gets lucky on the rolls they could end up with a biotic arm, leg, or eye with +2 BS/Move/Str etc to their stats. I had some shitbird redemptionist dude that was a cripple with one leg who I kept bringing because he had an insane Ballistic skill from the implants. Our group absolutely feared him. They called him Tom Berenger. Legend says in 2000 he killed an Arbite that decided to come police my boys in the underhive.

You can save the game state and load it up again with the same person later. Still highly recommending.

I'm sure it's fine and all that. I'm just at a point where 40k the game feels more laborious than fun.
