there is a house icon in winter of 2025, Bellular had a video yesterday where he went over it and confirmed it’s for housing

Lotta chatter for a Legion remix in between 11.2.7 and 12.0.

I would think most of us have what we want since we cared about that expansion, but a nice way for newer players to get the class specific stuff tied to the Order Halls without grinding through it on 12 classes. (The archeology mount, the world pvp area mount, those damn falcosaur pets - a lot of that would be obnoxious for someone coming in new.)

The housing expansion isnt even the next expansion coming out. Midnight, the expansions name, is after the next one. So we're talking 3 and a half to 5 years from now. Who knows what tf we'll be playing by that point, if we're playing games at all. Them dropping a teaser for it is insanely early and ... seems out of touch.

Midnight is the next expansion.

The next expansions for World of Warcraft after The War Within are Midnight and The Last Titan. These expansions are part of the Worldsoul Saga trilogy, which is a story arc that will span three expansions.

Expansion Details
The War Within The first expansion in the Worldsoul Saga trilogy, set to be released in 2024. The expansion will begin with players' adventures deep beneath the surface.
Midnight The second expansion in the Worldsoul Saga trilogy. This expansion will include player housing.
The Last Titan The third expansion in the Worldsoul Saga trilogy.

Blizzard Entertainment also plans to release new expansions and patches more frequently than in the past

lol at the last part

Housing does have the potential to keep the collectors subbed forever if they do it right.

The way to do housing is to copy EQ2. I was always helping a guildie farm some dungeon for shinies to get furniture. We did more of that than actual raiding. They also had guild hall housing.

Wow's housing is going to suck ass and is about 10 years too late.

But this is probably what will happen.

Only old Blizzard was smart enough to steal the best systems from other games and add them to the current game. New Blizzard only know how to be gay, cut off dick, eat hot chip, and lie.

Housing is going to be unbelievably successful.

Imagine The Sims buy in wow. You want a gold chair? $3. You want a green rug? Another $3. You want a man servant twink who does sexy dances? $30.

It's such an unbelievable cash cow I can't believe they took so long.

This might be the plan, but it also might be the point the casual end of the player base quits. They can somehow justify to themselves the Bruto purchase once in a while, because of "utility" and FOMO, but nickel and diming something that at its core is a social/RP system?

Or Blizzard could pull another Blizzard and tie slight power gains to housing. I'd probably have to stock up on strategic popcorn reserves for the ensuing shitstorm.

Micro transaction housing shit is huge in SWTOR and EQ2, whatever minor player count lose they have will be more than made up for by the kitschy housewives that spend all day decorating player houses. There will be a whole new market that springs out of this if they do it right.

It wont start with any microtransactions other then perhaps the epic edition of the new expansion will come with something to hang on the wall. The expansion after Midnight is where you may seem them start to pop up in the store, but my guess is that wont happen till a couple expansions later.

Or they may not do it at all, however I do find that unlikely but dont expect to see them for a few years atleast.

Im imagining that they'll have a standard "look" depending on your faction. Alliance will favor stormwind, and Horde, Orgrimmar. Everything that can be placed in and around those structures will be 80% found, 10% Trader's/Event, 10% store with the last two being FOMO, obviously. How popular it is at that point will tell them whether to go the ESO route and sell Racial "Packages" that are something like a suite of a racial structure with racial objects. Or they give the structures out for free and go the original route. Though, Im sure we'll get overlap eventually.

I honestly dont give a shit, though. I'll play for Mythic+, bitch a bit because they havent changed shit, and quit - just like the last handful of expansions.

I agree. First they'll probably just release the content - you'll get your house options, probably some furniture vendor, and some drops. Maybe they will add furniture items to each trade skill - engineering can make appliances, etc

Then once people have really gotten into it, they'll start tossing up deluxe furniture shit for RMT. Want a giant Lich King gold statue for your house? $10

Yep, back when I raided and played the old EQ2 TLEs, there were a bunch of older women who were great guild leads but CLEARLY spent a fortune on housing stuff and made amazing guild halls. One of the halls looked like a little crafting village/city, it was amazing and they loved us gushing over it, so money well spent for them and the game is supported ! /shrug

Beef ongoing. Bellular just released a new summary.

Its interesting because for the entire reward track part of M+, frankly I didn't really find it hard other then having to pug it which innately made it twice as hard as it needed to be and played an off meta melee DPS. Frustrating is the word I would use, but for all the reasons its always been frustrating to be a PUG DPS in WoW since 2004. There is a million of you, another class is likely going to be better at it then yours, and you gear is going to be a limiting factor. Once I got into a groove, used all sources I could to gear, and RAN MY OWN FUCKING KEYS, it was whatever. Like im in my 40's, im not nearly as good as a lot of players, and I played a shit class. Yet I used my power of "not being a social retard" to power my way to the best gear in the game.

Like my warrior is now at 636 ILVL with a 2800 IO score, I could do 12's, but I don't. I do my 8 10-11's in 15-20 min each and say enough of that. None of it is difficult, I have to queue for maybe 3 max groups to get into one so these videos are a little bewildering I guess. There was no talk in this video about why theres a wall. How to solve that wall or even if there shouldn't be a wall. I do not do 12's cause the wall is 1) I would have to pug 2) I am not meta and 3) its a gigantic leap in difficulty. Like I dont pretend I can waltz into Mythic Palace and clear it out lickty split, it would take hundreds and hundreds of attempts with no rewards on bosses for me to do. Now if the argument is we should stop depleting keys so people can practice 12's at their leisure? Then yes I agree. Should I get 12 crests for a depleted key? I mean again I don't care, but then you don't get gear for not killing el raid boss, why get full rewards for not doing dungeon on time? Or is the reward for doing it on time a 13? What's the point? More IO? You dont get a better vault at any point past 10, you dont get better gear from the dungeon at any point past a 7? Should that change?

Boozecube made the argument that there shouldn't be any tiers of rewards at all. Make it like vanilla where theres a booming voice saying "Here Be [Item of Awesomeness], To get It do X Raid Boss or Y Dungeon Boss". Okay great. How hard should that content be? Mythic Raiding now makes Classic Raiding look like it could be done by a toddler, and dungeons now made classic dungeons look like they were composted of target dummies that occasional auto attack (CAUSE THEY WERE). So how hard should said content be? Should everyone be able to do it? Should the top 50% of the player base? Top 5%? What do the other % of the playerbase do? Should they be happy with [Blue Chestguard of Guarding] Instead of [Puple Chestguard of Awesome] like they were back in Vanilla? If yes then why interact with M+ at all when you get essentially the same items just 13 ILVLS lower by not interacting with M+ or Mythic Raiding at all. What are you doing with said items? If you capped out in Scholo back in 2005 and had blue gear it was more then enough to clear Scholo even faster but was a good start at doing a 40 man MC raid. Capping out delves now is the same gear level as doing a heroic raid so there's only Mythic Raid Or 8+ M+. So I guess they should Nerf Delve Gear?

I guess they made it very easy to gear via M+ in Dragonflight since it was so hard in Shadowlands, and of course I didn't play DF at all so I missed the "easy" M+ times so none of this has felt different to me other then I didnt have to grind up to 20 to get my portals again. I dunno I guess I am not sure what people want. In the video he flat out says "People understand Mythic Raiding is a hardest thing to do" This is true and it has the best gear available (even above M+ in weapons and trinkets) and is by far the fastest way to gear since it can drop at 636 off the last boss. Where is the arbitrary line in M+ that rewards the upgrade tokens and vaults slots then for M+? He never brought it up and I am really not sure. Is it +7 like DF S4? So you come out of delves at 613 ilvl for example and are dumped into 5-8 M+ and now well you get the best gear available? I guess?

If I could change anything in M+ now it would be this
-Revert the squish OR Remove Guile and Bargain at 12.
-Change timing crest reward to 15
-Remove key depletion
-treat stuns/knockups/knockdowns/etc like interupts so mobs dont start casting again insta
-buff all tanks and healers
-give warrior Bloodlust

I really do not think gear reward has to change. People will always take the pasth of least resistance and eventually find their own cap on content base don time and skill. Should the Orig Naxx not have existed cause noone cleared KT back in the day? Or should dungeons cap out far lower then raids like they used to? Or should gear flat not matter and if people want to push to +1000 M+ level cause they can (which frankly is what is what M+ is now after 10)?

The issue is that its "hard". Its hard to get the best gear regardless if you choose to mythic raid or "mythic dungeon" (10's). Its always been hard. It was hard back in Naxx or Sunwell or Firefighter Mimiron. Its just the definition of hard now is such a cosmic jump between then and now its probably at the limit where they really cant make it harder without alienating the majority of the playerbase. So if they need to make it easier to placate people then I guess that's where the game is now at. FF14 does it. Savage raiding would be the equivalent to heroic raiding in WoW, and the dungeons are not a gear source. The "pinnacle" of FF14 raiding is ultimate's which give a title and a cosmetic weapon.

613 is a completely pathetic reward for a 9 key chest. The tracks are all fucked up and designed to make the person farm crests for the duration of the entire season.

Normally in SL and DL you could max out faster. Them dragging M+ out as long as possible with the 90 crest change from 60 crests is a huge part of the complaint.

Man Blizzard should be sucking Sodapoppins cock. I just looked at twitch and WoW is trending but it's only trending because the top fucking like 50 streams are all <Onlyfangs> faggots. It isn't until you get down pretty goddamn far before you even see anything in current wow which is PvP you don't see M+ until 100+

Current WoW sucks so much fucking cock that it's amazing anyone still has their fucking jobs.

I really do not think gear reward has to change.
Played a bit casually, because people dragged me back in. With how the current gearing and reward system works, the obvious answer (without changing the foundations of the systems) is "one too many."
  • Crests + Valorstones: One too many, lose the Valorstones, or lose the limit on them.
  • Item tracks (Explorer/Adventurer/Veteran/Champion/Hero/Mythic): One too many, or maybe even two.
  • Upgrades (Weathered, Carved, Runed, Gilded): One too many.
Someone at Blizzard was too proud of their system to stop people from upgrading an M+2 drop all the way up to maximum item level. I didn't see the problem back then, especially with how RNG the drop system really is, and how there already were weekly point caps for the upgrades anyway. And you have to farm new drops in the next season, so why be uptight about loot? Sometimes it feels like Ion has to personally shit all the loot out of his asshole.

While we are at it, why give only mythic raiders access to mythic track drops, but M+ never drops mythic gear, at most enables you to get a random mythic item from the weekly RNG chest? How about you drop mythic track at +12 or +14? Is it so M+ players are funneled into your raids Ion?

With how looter-shooter and Diablo-esque the gearing in WoW has become, having some sort of RNG failsafe would be great. They already had the dinar/bullion in the last seasons, and even the 20th anniversary Blackrock raids have coffer keys, so why not use these for the current M+ and raid?

On a separate note, the onboarding for all of this sucks balls. If third parties have to make infographics for it, then the system is overcomplicated and overengineered.

The bottom rung of the crests needs to be chopped off, sure. Weathered? iirc, was just a waste of time or a "training" token to be more specific. The rest of it I thought was fine. Its to the point and succinct with what you're doing in terms of difficulty. It also gets you to do different layers of content, from mythic+ to raiding. Delves were a great entry, but they take players too deep into Mythic+ and the learning curve is too steep for a +6 to be the point of entry. What I "feel" like happened, is that Delves were designed with the old Mythic difficulty tiers in mind. 1-15 being viable for most players. Then they decided to squish Mythic+ into the 1-10, then changed a few things after that for 11-12.

I'd love to say they'll get it right next expansion, but they just cant seem to perfect the implementation of anything thats "new" and not stolen. I say that, but even stuff they've stolen lately has came in as as a lightweight mobile version of the system they stole... WoW's just a game that you play for around a ~month and.. I guess thats ok. I miss when I could play it for most of the year, but at the same time I dont.
