Well every movie sucks, if you make a good movie and word of mouth goes a long way. Keep blaming it on the theatres dying but out of nowhere you have random movies bringing in almost 1m dollars

I think it’s a lot of both. Movies used to be an easy entertainment outlet that has lost a ton of appeal. You can still bring people with excellent movies but they aren’t the easy sell of previous years. Why go out when you can just watch at home? Especially since the younger generations never want to leave the house and live off Uber orders. Times are very different.

will be on 4K VOD next week

rather than rewatch Fury Road before you watch this, I would recommend watching this and THEN watching Fury Road. It works much better that way

Wow, that seems pretty fast. Is it even still in the theaters?

Just giving consumers even less reason to go to the movies. People remember stuff like this.

Bad Boys 4 in the second week did $33.8M up against a $154M Inside Out 2. Furiosa split with Garfield on opening weekend and then was outdone by both IF and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes on their later weeks.

Leaving disappointments in theatres for longer would not help it at all. But it's not like streaming is going to save the bottom of the barrel either.

In my opinion Hardy held the movie together but Theron was fine.

I'd say the incredible cinematography, incredible stunts and Junkie XL's soundtrack carried the movie.

Hardy was fine and all but when I try to remember him in the film it's like he barely says anything, shoots a few times, and is gone (it works because it's a Mad Max movie and that's part of the recipe). But he worked well with Theron and Hoult, and there were many memorable if minor characters, interesting design for clothing and accessories, incredible vehicles, interesting visuals...

It's one of those movies where you can't just pick one thing you liked about it. It's a glorious mix of things that worked well, but taken separately you'd be hard-pressed to explain to someone why it was so great. It was lightning in a bottle, which is probably part of the reason Furiosa's not doing so well, it's hard to do it again.

They trained people not to go to the theater and don't understand why people don't go to the theater.

Nothing against Hardy but I'm pretty any number of actors could have done a convincing job of grunting, rasping out a handful of sentence fragments, and pretending to have traumatic memories of Glory.

What is kind of funny is when you realize that this actor would have played Hardy's role just fine.

Probably better. He's a pretty decent actor. Not that Hardy is bad but I know after repeat viewings his performance is just kind of wonky.

Not as if his character wasn't great in the film though along with his performance, although I can't remember his characters name. Nutz or something?

I dunno, after watching it (Fury Road) I thought it was... not bad, not great, probably not even all the way to good.
