I can't even imagine the mental leaps you must make to overcome your cognitive dissonance when you think people hate Captain Marvel or Ray because they were women, but then those same people go full fanboy for Ahsoka Tano, or think Ripley is one of the best characters in Sci Fi.

the issue i had with capt marvel is...i just didn't like her portrayal of the character, i KNOW she supposedly was going stoic due to the mind control aspect, when we have had over a DECADE of RDJ's Tony Stark, Spiderman, Capt america etc. the movie and her character didn't resonate. then her irl ideology came into play during the promotion of said movie and tada, we get reviled character mindset.
the movie was ok, not as bad as the worst of the mcu movies, but towards that bottom tier of movies vs the top tier.

Which is fine. Never said Captain Marvel was a stellar movie. But there was a pathetic tribal aspect to some people's attempts to go out of their way to "spread the message" of how Brie Larson and Captain Marvel was the end of civilisation or whatever, that just didn't exist with ... dunno .. Thor: The Dark World or whatever.

I think Captain Marvel is worse than Dark World or IM2 in that those movies were kind of bland and didn't really add much but CM was aggressively shitty in choices they made. I don't think it's the end of the world and some movie has to be the worst one and it isn't as bad as the worst of the DC movies so there's that I guess.

Both of those oddly were better during my binge of the whole MCU in the past month or so. They had a good bit of character development.
CM was still hot garbage though. Even worse the second time around, obviously.

this is true and i would not have even watched it, but i figured its the next to last MCU film and its only a few hours and i can see it for free, eh why not. on top of her being a bad actress, its a bad movie. not disgustingly bad, there just isnt anything there, it doesnt even tie in to Endgame, like at all. sure SM saves Tony and Nebula
but it could have been any number of other supers saving them. and she got one punched out of the movie courtesy of Thanos. that was it, she had no impact on this franchise. Captain Marvel was just a massive waste of time even if you disregard all of the cheese thief's horrible acting and her shit attitude.

People hate movies because the movie sucks.
SJW movies tend to have a disastrous trailer and tone deaf political statements from the production, so you know not to watch them (hence the "outrage" videos warning people).
I went into The Last Jedi with a lot of excitement and came out done with Star Wars. I only watched videos/memes about it afterwards because I agreed with them and wanted to see the way I felt articulted by professional critics.
I did not watch Ghostbusters remake because the trailer did not wow me and the "alt right" videos convinced me. I watched it on TV later and it did indeed suck. It also has a Plinkett review which is the gold standard of explaining why something is terrible.
I was excited for Captain Marvel and enjoyed the movie, the "fake outrage" videos were much more muted as the movie was OK. However Brie Larson did not endear herself to fans and I don't care about any sequel because she seems like a disingenuous airhead.
Ranting about 4 chan and alt right just reveals you as a brainwashed SJW cultist who can't think for themselves.
